Now Playing: Battlefield by Jordin Sparks
Elijah walked into the hockey arena with his gear. Most people wait for the coaches but Elijah was graduating soon. So he wanted to be at his best for when scouts came to the games. The ice scraped against his skates. He looked up seeing Phoenix standing in the stands. Elijah took off his helmet skating to the stands. "What are you doing here?" He said through the glass.
Phoenix sat in the stands for a moment then stood up. " I came to return your jacket!" Phoenix said walking down the steps with the jacket in her arms. She didn't want to give back but she had to because her family was coming into town.
Elijah walked into the bleachers shaking his head. " No Phoenix. I don't want the damn jacket back. I gave it to for you to keep it. And to remember me bye." He said taking his helmet off.
Phoenix breathe hitched before tears ran down her face. "Your.. your leaving?" She said wiping the tears from her face. Phoenix shook her head " No. No Elijah you can't leave I won't allow it. I... I need... I need you to stay. I'll make you stay. You have to stay...stay for me." She said as her voice started breaking.
20 minutes later
Elijah shook his head "I cant stay. This is my last year. We're are moving to South Carolina. So I decided that I was gonna finish my last year here with my family then move to New England after graduation." Elijah bent down putting his gear into his bag then zipped it up. A smile formed on his lips as he ran passed Phoenix. "You made it!" He said hugging the female standing at the top of the staircase kissing her softly.
Adelaide put her bag down hugging and kissing him back "my flight got delayed for 2 hours. I texted and called you but you didn't answer your phone." She said seeing Phoenix and turned her head to Elijah "who's that?"
Elijah cleared his throat softly "she was just leaving don't worry about it."
Phoenix heart started to race. This wasn't anger it was sadness. A sadness that she didn't want to feel. She never wanted to feel this type of pain. But here it was on the staircase a foot away from her. She walked up the stairs " I gave YOU....I gave MY heart. And you BROKE IT. Into a million pieces. Just like that." She said snapping her fingers in the air. She started walking away from both of them but stopped in her path when Elijah spoke.
"The jacket Phoenix. I need it back." He said wrapping his arm around Adelaide waist.
Phoenix gripped the jacket in her hands for a moment then sat on the ground.

Phoenix gripped the jacket in her hands for a moment then sat on the ground. Her hands shook as she put the jacket on the ground. The only time Phoenix ever felt this type of sadness was when her father raped her at the age of 8 years old.
Adelaide rolled her eyes "just give him the jacket back. He doesn't want you. He has me and wants nothing to do with you whore." She said snatching the jacket from Phoenix hands.
Elijah cleared his throat then took the jacket from Adelaide and put it around Phoenix shoulder. "Never call her that again you low life gold digger! I knew I shouldn't have gotten back together with you."
Adelaide let out a scoff and rolled her eyes. "You really gonna leave me for this piece of trash!" She said pointing at Phoenix.
Phoenix slid the jacket off of her shoulders handing it to Elijah. She stepped in front of Adelaide slapping her across the face grabbing her face. "I'm not a gold digger like you. I'll never be like you! You wanna know why? Because you're nothing but a low down rag doll." She said letting go of Adelaide face. Phoenix turned to Elijah looking up at him.
Elijah let out a small smile putting the jacket back around her. He ran his hands through her hair softly looking down at her. Elijah's hands ran down to her face softly rubbing her cheek.
Phoenix leaned into his touch softly pulling him towards her smashing her lips into his.
Elijah felt the kiss and didn't hesitate to kiss her back pulling her closer to him wrapping his arms around her waist.
Adelaide watched them then picked her bags walking out of the arena rolling her eyes.
Phoenix pulled away from the kiss watching Adelaide walk away. " Don't leave me Elijah."
Elijah shook his head " I wouldn't even think about it." He said kissing her again.
