Chapter 8:

"Who are you?" she asked in her sweet voice.
"I'm Galadriel, but I'm more famous under the name Hela."
"Cool. I'm Lilith. Take me, I want to fly with you. Your wings are so beautiful, I've never seen ones like them before," Carol's daughter marveled.
How can she be so innocent? Without fear of me. A happy tear rolled down one cheek and I took little Lilith from Carol's shoulders, held her tight and flew in wild loops through the portal. "Go Carol/Mom. We're faster than you.", Lilith and I laughed out loud. I took Carol's hand in mine while Lilith pressed against me and we flew through the bright light of the end of the portal.
Through our wings we glided elegantly in the shore of a huge sea. Violet clear water flowed over our bare feet. The golden sun was ready for its nightly sleep and sank into the depths of the sea. The characteristic scent of the unique sea spread in my nose and the magic of the moment burned forever the infinity of memories. It seemed for a moment as if all my evil thoughts, memories and deeds were erased forever. The pain and jellyfish I let happen over entire nations and planets completely gone. I was never taken from this place. How can Carol love me, protect me, save me, even though I have brought so much suffering to the galaxies and worlds. I notice how I poke my pointed fingernails deep into the skin of my arm and for a brief second the pain is gone from my life. I don't think this happiness lasts, it never does. Why should this ever change? Because this will never happen. I didn't notice how the sea rose with each of my tears and the one I ever caused. It is an opposing take and give. An ever repeating circle with no real end or beginning. My hair turned black again, my eyes a gauzy green again as the darkness threatened to spread through me again.
"Driel hey pls do not cry. Why are you crying?" asked Lilith with a worried look, rattling the silk of my blue dress. Carol quickly flew to me as she saw tears rolling down my cheek and mine started to turn. "Hey honey. I know how hard everything is for you right now and that you still need to process everything. I'm here for you, we can do anything you want. And Lilith definitely wants to introduce you to her older sister Nerinda and show you your home with us. I love you. I will never let you go again. You my Galadriel are the light that never goes out," she said with a smile on her face. She kissed me tenderly on my lips while wrapping me in her arms. She then closed my hand in hers in the other Lilith. We flew into the air and glided through the sunset into a new life as a family, into a new old home. Where even the goddess of death became light and learned to love again with the right people. For love and memories not even Odin or any other being can erase from a person.

But the supposed end is only the beginning.
