Stanley Uris a Jewish boy, was walking home. It had been another day of school and he did not notify his surroundings. So he had been walking till he realized he had walked all the way to a park. He could hear the children laughing and playing around but one girl got his attention.
She had dusty brown hair and an odd streak of white hair. She had dark eyes and dusty brown skin.
He had seen the girl before around his school, she was known to be Miss Perfect, not that she was but she had good grades and lived in a wealthy family. She is what you call a prestigious kid.
Everyone could agree that she had a unique type of beauty that not everyone had, especially in an old town like Derry.
He didn't really know her name.
Stanley knew he had to go but he had the urge to go up to her as she was softly crying.
"Hey, My name is Stanley, I saw you crying and I just wanted to ask if you're alright, I mean it's not like I have been staring at you or anything, I mean I...sorry". The girl frowned at him, "Look, I'm fine and I don't need a loser like you caring about me", she rudely says trying to walk away.
Stanley didn't know what came over him but he grabbed her wrist instantly. She stared at him, "Let go of me, weirdo", she says, trying to pull her wrist out his grasp.
"Look, I don't care if you call me a loser or a weirdo but right now I can tell you are sad and you need someone to talk to..." before he could finish the girl started to cry.
Stanley didn't know what to do, he was never really good at talking to girls let alone comforting the most prestigious girl in his school but he knew he needed to do something so he awkwardly gave her a hug which she reluctantly accepted.
It was only a short few seconds that the girl calmed down. She let go of him and sat near a quiet place as he followed her.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean what I said. I just had a rough day, today. Some girls were bulling me because of my hair, they were saying how I'm adopted because I don't look like my parents. Even, how hard I try, no matter how hard I try I'll never be perfect", she sobbed
Stanley looked at her with sympathy but then she realized she had spoken too much, "I'm sorry, I told you all that, you probably think now that I'm weird".
"Wait, I don't think that you are". "Really", "yeah, I actually think you're pretty cool and you know what?... no one is perfect".
"Yeah, I mean, I am known as the trashmouth everywhere but I still am damn cool", A boy named Richie said, coming out of his hiding place where he was secretly eavesdropping.
Both Stanley and the girl looked shocked.
"Sorry, the name is Richie, I pretty much heard your whole conversation but I think you're beautiful for sure, a complete nerd and pretty damn cool", Richie smiled sheepishly, while Stanley rolled his eyes at his annoying friend and the girl just smiled at him feeling her cheeks get warm.
"Thanks, both of you. I feel so much better."
"You know you can be our friend", Stanley said.
She looked shocked for a moment, "Yeah, I would love that", she smiled picking her bag.
"I have to go now, my parents will worry, if I come any later". She says and Stanley also remembers that his strict parents would worry too.
"Wait, before you go, an extraordinary girl should have an extraordinary name right", Richie flirts forgetting Stanley is still there.
The girl felt her cheeks feel warm again.
She flashes him a grin, "My name is 𝓔𝓿𝓮𝓵𝔂𝓷 𝓢𝓽𝓸𝓷𝓮".
