"You look like shit." Wanda stated when she first saw Natasha after months. Natasha gave her a look, "Seriously Wanda, you're a kid, you're not supposed to say that." Wanda rolled her eyes. "I'm seventeen, I'm a teenager. Besides, you're starting to sound like Steve." Natasha stiffened, she didn't even bothered to hide it. Okay, something's definitely wrong.

"Is it Steve?" Wanda asked, startling Natasha immediately.  Natasha just nodded, there was no point hiding it. No point. She just buried her face in her legs once more, and growled. "Did he do something to you?" Wanda asked carefully. "For fucks sake, you can read minds." Natasha glared at her.

It wasn't Wanda's fault, but she had to let her anger out. Yup, she was still angry. Wanda's eyes flickered with a tint of red for a moment. "Oh...OH!" Wanda's eyes widened in excitement. "Don't. You. Dare. Wanda." Natasha threatened her.

She groaned even more and raked her fingers through her hair. Wanda just chuckled at her. Not helping at all. "Remind me, why did I bother to find you Wanda?" Wanda just gave her a cheesy grin and put an arm around Natasha.

*********

Steve was angry. Very angry. Sure, they are SHEILD agents, they should go easy on them, but they just jeopardized the whole mission. "Did either of you realized that you could've died!" Steve scolded them. No one met the Avenger's eyes. "Steve... It's only our first big mission..." Sharon started. "Did I tell you to follow my orders? Yes! But did you? No!" Steve snapped.

Sharon shrank back to her seat. Steve stomped to the back of the Quinjet. Steve put his face in his hands, trying to calm down his hammering heart. He was depressed about something that didn't even happened. She just ran out of the elevator, what's wrong with that?

He's stupid to think like that, he's stupid.

"Look Wanda, it isn't that easy. He's the world's most righteous soldier, I'm... well, I'm the world's most deadliest ex- KGB spy." Natasha explained to her. Wanda just shook her head, amused. "It's not as easy as you think Wanda. I have too much red in my ledger. He deserves someone better. He always does." Natasha sighed.

She wasn't being insecure, no. But he does deserve someone who can give him family, children, a house in somewhere quiet with a white picket fence. She could never give him that. Curse the Red Room for that. Natasha held back the tears that were threatening to fall.

Wanda looked at her sympathetically, "It's okay. You know he will never ask for that." Natasha grabbed a fistful of her red hair, "That's the problem! He is too selfless to satisfy his needs! I want him to be as happy as he can. I can't do that. We should stay as friends." Wanda just went forward and hugged her, not knowing what to say.

After all, this was a complicated issue.
