Lisa answered the call. His expression changed from being calm to slightly frown. After a moment, he put down the phone and turned to look at Jennie.
"What's wrong?" Seeing his serious expression, Jennie's heart skipped a beat.
"Your DNA has already been taken by Senior Jeon." His eyes were bright and calm, and his lips had a hint of a smile that was not a smile. "He's actually faster than us."
Jennie's face darkened. "It looks like he really did come prepared this time."
Suddenly, her voice stopped as the door to the ward was pushed open. As Somi entered, she looked towards Jennie with an unusual look, as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Seeing Lisa was here, Somi immediately calmed her expression. She looked at Jennie hesitantly a few times before softly asking Lisa. "Lisa, shouldn't the Manoban Group be very busy at the beginning of the year? Now you have put down your work to accompany her. She doesn't seem to have suffered any serious injuries, so letting you always accompany her here is like making a big fuss out of nothing."
Somi didn't have much of a temper when she spoke to Lisa, but today, she had her daughter along with her. The look in her eyes had a hint of chilliness to it.
Just as Jennie was about to say something, her hands felt warm. Lisa gently held her hand, then turned to look at Somi. "I just listened to the reports at the branch office and stopped by to see Jennie before returning to Manoban Group. Of course, she won't hold up my work, even if I want to stay here with her, she still wouldn't agree."
His attitude of defending Jennie had made Somi's expression turn cold, and a hint of pain appeared in her eyes. She turned around and walked over to Xiaoyi, no longer looking at them. She then casually said, "It seems that you and your wife really love each other dearly. Then, I wish you and your wife a hundred years of harmony!"
Somi emphasized the last four words. She bent over at the same time and carried Xiaoyi, who was bored to death, then left the ward.
Looking at Somi's proud and stubborn back, Jennie was not sure if she knew about the relationship between Jennie and Jeon Family or not.
"Actually, isn't it very cruel of us to do this to her?" Jennie muttered to herself.
Lisa sighed softly and held her hand tightly, "Everything that she has been through since she was young was too smooth and superior, and she rarely encountered any setbacks."
"At least she loves you." Jennie looked at his handsome face.
"Aish, what should I do? With Nancy at home and Somi outside, I feel that my happiness was tested. Everywhere I go, I walk on thin ice. I always have to be careful with what I have to do because I am not ready to let you go."
Lisa smiled and pulled her into his arms. "Then don't let go."
After that, he said softly, "That's not love, but possessiveness. Loving someone is not like this. Loving someone means you will try everything to make your partner happy. Whether it goes up or down, or warm and steady, you will always want to give your partner the best. Not treating them like a possession."
Jennie put her arms around him and her bulging stomach pressing against his. She then blurted out her thoughts without thinking, "Do you love me, Lisa?"
A low laugh came from above her head. Jennie raised her head from his embrace, as if she had just realized how foolish her question was. Immediately, she wanted to shove him away in embarrassment. "What I mean is ..."
