Chapter 10 : Confessions and accusations

Savannah know Zia is provoking Lucas but there is nothing she can do about that now. She concentrate on Lucas.
Sav: "That's...I know his name so there must be something going on between us, right? I'm polite and i talk to people. That's all."
Zia: "Yeah. Sure."
Sav: "Zia, stay out of this."
Lucas: "No, Savannah, Zia has a point. How well do you know Rhys?"
Sav: "We've spoken a few times, and he seems nice."
Lucas: "What do you talk about?"
Sav: "Oh, you know...life and stuff."
Zia: "I think there's more to the story than that, Savannah."
Sav: "I see what you're doing, Zia. I see the game you're playing."
Zia: "What game?"
Sav: "You and Paxton are fighting and you want to use me to take the focus off you. Am I right?"
Paxton: "Well, this is sufficiently awkward. I'm heading to the bar."
Zia purses her lips.
Just then, Rhys returns with the drinks.
Zia: "Rhys, won't you tell us how you and Savannah met?"
Rhys looks nervous.
Rhys: "I...I feel like this is some kind of trick question."
Sav: "We met at your wedding, Zia. Nothing scandalous about it."
Zia: "And somehow both of you made it aboard this very cruise ship."
Sav: "Zia, what are you implying?"
Zia: "That there's clearly something fishy here. Why else would you be friend with another man when you have a boyfriend? Unless there's something i should know about you and Lucas."
Sav's thoughts: "Has Zia guessed about our arrangement?" She says: "You know, it's really pathetic what you're doing Zia."
Zia: "I'm simply calling out a cheating liar!"
Sav: "No. You're creating drama when there isn't any."
Zia: "Yeah sure."
Sav: "I mean, i understand that it must be rough for you...Wanting someone so badly and not being able to get him."
Lucas: "Savannah!"
She knows she going to far but she can't stop herself. 
Sav's thoughts: "God! Zia knows how to push my buttons." She says: "Aww, Zia wants something and can't have it. Boo-freaking-hoo."
Zia looks at her with angry tears in her eyes before storming off.
Lucas: "Savannah, how could you be so cruel to Zia?"
Sav: "Are you serious?"
Lucas: "I've never seen Zia this upset...ever."
Lucas gets up from the table.
Sav: "Are you serious going after her?"
-"Yes"
To her horror, Lucas gets up and follows Zia. A few moments later, Rhys comes over.
Rhys: "Hey, i saw that girls running off, and your man running after her. Why did she look so upset?"
Sav: "I mean, Zia has done nothing but pick on me. And i say one little thing to stick up for myself. And she runs off crying."
Rhys: "Maybe you hit a nerve."
-"And i guess there's something you should know about Lucas and Zia. They used to date."
-"So your boyfriend just ran off after his ex-girlfriends. And left you here."
-"Yes. That's what's going on. And to top it all, he's angry at me for upsetting her."
-"Whos. is he still in love with her?"
-"He said he isn't anymore, i mean...I'm not sure. At times, it feels like he is still in love with Zia. He sure goes out of his way for her."
-"I'll say. it does seem like a bit much. Do you know where they went?"
-"Pretty sure she's just locked herself in the bathroom. Ugh. I guess i should go see if she's okay."
-"Okay, but if you need to talk to someone...I'll be working in the bar."
-"I'll see if i can sneak away."
-"Sure thing."
Rhys leaves. Savannah heads to the bathroom to see if you can help with the Zia situation.

Through the bathroom door, she can hear Lucas and Zia's conversation. But they can't see her.
Zia:" How can you date her, Lucas? She's dreadful."
Lucas:" I promise you she's not, Zia. She's actually a very sweet girl but she's having on off night."
Zia:" Would a sweet girl rub her relationship in my face like that?"
Lucas: "What?"
Zia:" She knows that i still...you know."
Lucas: "Paxton mentioned something, but it was hard for me yo believe."
Zia: "I..I still have feeling for you, Lucas."
Savannah overhear Zia crying. She instincts is to feel remorse, but she can't tell if she's faking the tears or not. 
Zia: "Lucas, do you ever think about us? You know..."
Lucas: "Yeah. I do think about us."
-"I often wonder what would have happened if i'd just said Yes to you."
-"I wonder sometimes too."
-"I think saying No to you was the biggest mistake i've ever made. I still regret it."
-"I..."
Savannah leans is closer to hear Lucas's reply. But she's clumsy and knocks the door into the wall. Lucas and Zia see her. 
She thinks: "Oh no!"
Zia: "Ugh. Savannah."
Lucas: "Savannah, how much of that did you hear?"
Sav: "Nothing. Nothing at all. I just got here...like, a second ago."
Zia: "I'd believe it more if you weren't rambling like an idiot."
Sav: "Who's rambling? I'm not rambling. Okay then, i guess i'm going to leave you two to your...moment."
Lucas: "Savannah, can we talk about this when i get upstairs?"
She thinks about Rhys's offer to hang out tonight. She thinks: "A night without drama or tension sounds so goes right about now."
Sav: "I'm going out tonight, Lucas."
Lucas: "Where?"
Sav: "I'm going to hang out with Rhys."
Zia: "The bartender?"
Sav: "Yes, Zia. He's a bartender here. We've established that."
Lucas: "I'm not happy about this. Well, what time are you coming back?"
Sav: "Don't know so don't wait up."
