Chapter 7 : Celebration time!

Savannah waits anxiously for Lucas to return to their cabin. When he finally comes back she is ready to bombard him with the good news.
Sav: "i have big news. I got a job at Harbinger and Combs."
Lucas: "The criminal lawyers? That's incredible."
-"Thank you. Stacy just called and told me."
-"We'll miss you at Madison and Fitzhugh though."
-"I'll miss the firm too."
-"We should celebrate. Let me take you out to dinner. Where would you like to go, Soul Food or Amelia's?"
-"I love Italian, let's go to Amelia's."
-"i've been to Amelia's in New York and it was fantastic. Great, Why don't you get dressed? And I'll head downstairs and get us a table. I'm so happy for you, Savannah."
Sav's thoughts: "This place is probably going to be fancy, so I better dress appropriately."
She choose a fancy strapless red dress, all with shiny glitter at its ends, with a big waist slit, she also get a little black purse, and wears lots of beautiful gold accessories. She thinks: "I look hot and sexy, i could run a school on Fashion honestly." 
She heads downstairs to meet Lucas.

She spot him sitting at a table waiting for her. He gets up and pulls her chair out for her.
Sav: "How gentlemanly of you."
Lucas: "Let no one ever say that Lucas Madison doesn't how to treat a lady."
Waiter: "Good evening, Sir and Madam. Can i start you off with something to drink?"
Sav: "I'd like a bottle of sparkling water please."
Lucas: "Oh, something different today, huh?"
Sav: "Can't let myself get too predictable."
Waiter: "No problem. Coming right up."
Lucas: "And keep them coming. We're celebrating."
Waiter: "You got it, Sir."
Sav: "You know, i have to hand it to you ,Lucas. You're really killing this fake boyfriend thing. Makes me wonder how you treat your real girlfriends."
Lucas: "Can we make a deal?"
-"Absolutely."
-"You agree to a deal without asking what it is first?"
-"I trust you."
-"I'm just proposing, for tonight, we drop the act."
-"Huh?"
-"It's just you an me. No Zia and Paxton. We don't have to impress anyone. We can just be ourselves."
-"I think i'd like that."
-"And we can get to know each other for real."
-"i definitely like that."
-"Maybe this could be our first real, official, date. How do you feel about that?"
-"I like that idea a lot."
-"I've wanted to take you out like this for so long time now, Savannah."
-"Well, I'm glad you finally asked."
-"Great. Savannah, what is your family like?"
-"So my mom had me when she was sixteen."
-"Whoa."
-"She's a great mom. I couldn't have asked for anything better."
-"What about your dad?"
-"He left right after i was born."
-"That's terrible."
-"Well, he came back ten years later and my parents got back together again. They got married and then had my sisters. And then he left again about five years ago. For good this time."
-"Oh my goodness."
-"Yeah. I mean, he wasn't much of a father to me, but it's hard not to miss him."
-"That's understandable, Savannah."
-"On a happier note, it did force my mom and me to become really close. But sometimes, i feel like i have to take care of her."
-"That's a lot of weight to shoulder."
-"Yeah it is."
-"Well, i really hope the hundred grand helps ease the pain."
-"It will."
-"I also hope that the hundred grand isn't the only reason you're here tonight."
Lucas gazes into Savannah's eyes. He takes her hand and she feels all...fluttery.
Lucas: "I really want to kiss you, Savannah. Will you let me?"
Sav: "Yes, Lucas, i'd like that."
Lucas leans in and kisses her gently on the lips. She feels lightheaded and wonderful.
Sav: "Wow. That was amazing. I'm so glad that we went out tonight."
Lucas: "Yeah, the entire charade was getting taxing. It was nice to be real with each other for once."
-"And we finally spent a night not talking about Zia."
-"True. You ready to get out of here?"
-"Yes. I'll just use the ladies' room first."
-"Perfect. I'll meet you outside."

She's in the ladies' room when she hears someone walk in. It's Zia. She thinks: "Great! My favorite person!"
Sav: "Hi, Zia."
She thinks again: "It can't hurt to be nice to Zia. Right?"
she continues saying: "How's your night going?"
Zia: "Oh. It's you... Enjoyed your evening with Lucas?"
-"We had a very nice date."
-"Oh, Savannah, I don't think you can call it a  date."
-"Oh! What would you call it?"
-"I don't know...I don't think there's a name for it. It's like you are a thorn on my path back to Lucas."
-"Excuse me?"
-"Lucas and i are destined to be together."
-"That's ridiculous."
-"You'll see. By the end of this cruise, Lucas Madison will be mine."
Zia brushes past Savannah and walks out as if nothing happened.
