His Redemptive Gift

Chapter 37

It was time, we could feel it. After months of planning and new affiliations we knew we were ready. There's no turning back now, this was our last chance to regain everything we lost, to revenge the death of our members and to finally put an end to Montenegro's empire.

"What if this doesn't work?" Mom asked shakily, "That man is a cunning bastard, what if he knows we're coming?"

"That's not possible Mom", Antonio replied, "he definitely knows we're coming for him, I don't think he expects us to just sit back after the attack but what he doesn't know is when and how. This will work, it must!"

We were all sitted in our underground conference room making final touches to our plan. Ever since the attack, Antonio had been very conscious of our gatherings and affiliations mainly because of how Andre betrayed us so only a few of top members were eligible to attend.

"We leave in a week, all preparations for moving can begin now." Antonio stated and everyone nodded in agreement, I carefully scanned everyone's faces, they all seemed to be in complete support except Rosa who looked very uneasy. Her presence wasn't actually needed but according to Antonio, she goes wherever he goes.

I watched as she fidgeted and looked around nervously,

"Are you okay Rosa?" Mom asked also noticing her discomfort,

"Yes, I just want to say something." She replied,

"Go on dear" Mom urged,

I had a clue about what she wanted to say, ever since Gio returned from his mission and mentioned that her friend was still alive Rosa kept on bringing up the issue in all our meetings.

"I just beg you all to also be on the look out for Ashley, she might still be there." She replied quietly,

Antonio just rolled his eyes and stood, "The aim of the mission first, any other thing can come in later on. Meeting dismissed!" He stated and everyone stood to leave.

Rosa sat there looking like she was about to cry, mom comforted her a bit but later on left to be with Arielle.

"Alessio" Rosa called as I was about to leave,

"What?" I replied, I had no hard feelings against Rosa, although I also don't really associate with her because of what she did to my brother.

"Please, I beg you to help me find her." She begged,

"I can't assure you of anything Rosa but if we find her, we'll bring her back." I stated clearly and walked away,

I know she feels guilty for everything that happened to her friend. Ashley definitely didn't deserve everything she went through, I remember how scared she would get whenever she was around Antonio and how clumsy she was around me. Although we had very few and short spaned conversations she seemed like the contented simple life girl with big dreams and didn't want any drama but such is life and this is her fate.

I climbed out of his bed as quietly as I could, I should be used to this by now but I wasn't. The pain and struggle was real, another month had passed making it about five months since I was brought here.

I picked up my clothes and left the room, I shut the door quietly so as not to wake the sleeping monster.

I walked down the hall to my room which I was given after I became the personal slut of the monster.

Why he chose me, I don't know?,

I walked into the bathroom and immediately turned on the shower, I felt irritated by my own body so I didn't stay long in there. I was out and ready in ten minutes to go prepare his breakfast although even cooking didn't help me feel better these days.

I hurriedly prepared his breakfast because I wanted to quickly attend to an issue that has been bothering me before he woke up.

In less than thirty minutes I was done, I served it and took it toin his room though he was still asleep.

I rushed down to the maids quarters to see my new friend, she was new here and was quite older but she didn't treat me like the rest.

"Sara" I called as soon as I spotted her, she turned around and waved at me.

She worked in shopping and sorting for supplies needed in the mansion.

She hugged me lightly and gave me a reassuring smile, "it's going to be okay Ashley, you're probably just stressed and worried for no reason."

"I hope so Sara, I really hope I'm just overthinking this." I replied, " Did you get it though?"

"Yea," she nodded, she looked around stylishly before handing me a little paper bag which I immediately stuffed in my dress pocket.

My hands became cold and shaky all of a sudden,

"Calm down Ashley, you'll be fine." She reassured and I nodded,

"Thank you so much, I'll see you later.'' I said and gave her a hug before rushing back to my room.

I locked the door and sat on my bed, I brought out the paper bag, my hands were shaky as I took out it's content. Never in a million years would I have thought that at this stage of my life I would be taking a pregnancy test.

I just had to know whether my period delay and dizzy spells were because I was pregnant or I was just overthinking things and they were probably just because I was stressed.

I said a little prayer in my mind hoping that by all means this comes out negative before going through with it.

I sat still gazing at the clock as I waited for the stated time. I tried to stop myself from thinking too much about it but my mind kept playing silly games with me.

As soon as the time was up I reached out for it,

No!

I checked the second and third but they all showed the same thing.

My head started to ache,

A baby for Lorenzo...!

Why the fuck is this happening to me?!

My eyes watered and my legs gave out, I fell to the ground hoping that all of this was a dream and I that I would wake up in my home, with family and I would tell them of this nasty dream and my mom would comfort me and everything would be okay.

Everything will be okay...!, But it's not!

It's not!

I can't have a baby, I just can't, especially not with that bastard Lorenzo. I hate him, I hate him for everything.

My head was aching so much now, I tried to stand but I couldn't, my head felt cloudy and I eventually passed out on the floor.
