Ashley's POV
He led me into his office and offered me a seat, more like ordered me to sit.
I sat down on the chair opposite him already preparing an explanation in my head in case he wanted to scold me for spending time with his niece.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a white envelope,
"Here" he said and slid it across the table towards me, I took it and stared at it not knowing if I should open it or not.
"Go ahead" he said, I didn't waste time in ripping the envelope to see the content, deep down I hoped it was a letter from Alex. I had promised to call him although I had no means to.
Disappointment and confusion set in when I read the heading of the paper,
Firstly, it's not from Alex...
Secondly, why am I being given a wedding invite?...
"For someone whose best friend is getting married in 3days, I expected more than that." Antonio said,
What?!
Best friend?!
I paused and checked the invitation card again, their names were boldly written on it. Rosa was getting married to Sir Antonio in 3days!!.
Alessio stared at me waiting for my reaction but I really didn't know what to think,
She ran away the first time only to be brought back and forced into a damn marriage,
I really felt bad for her,
I know Rosa was to blame for my current situation but I just couldn't put all the blame on her. Rosa was a very good friend to me and I couldn't just forget about all the fun times we had together in the past. All she wanted was to get away from this life of bondage and now she was going to be stuck in it for the rest of her life.
I wish I could comfort her right now,
I wish I could be there for her the same way she was there for me in the past.
"That invitation card is yours." Alessio said,
Mine?!
"You are going to be Rosa's Chief bridesmaid." he added,
"Bridesmaid" I whispered,
Did Rosa choose me or is this another one of their games?!
"Yes, you'll be Rosa's bridesmaid and my date to the wedding." he replied,
What?!, I panicked inwardly,
"Don't be too happy about it." he said sarcastically and stood up to get himself a drink.
Oh!, I'm definitely jumping for joy.
I definitely wouldn't go to this wedding on my own will if not for the love I have for my best friend.
