Ch 3 Yes or No?

*Valerie's POV*
I slept through the night thinking if he was jealous of me and Chris talking in the halls. Sooner and later I forgot that it happened as I start walking my way to school
Me and Veronica always meet by our lockers just talking about everything that's going on in our lives. "Hey I have to go to class I'll see you later." Veronica said as she starts grabbing her books and walking to class. My last reaction was me smiling and waving back to her.
Then to the corner of my eye I see Dan minding his own business until I stopped him to talk to me. "What do you want?" He says. "Why did you lie?"I asked quickly. "What the heck are you talking about?" He said nervously. Why did you lie to Chris, you know how you told him that the Principle needed him?" I asked. "Ok first of how do you have proof that I lied to him, well i didn't lie to him I just wanna know?" He asked again. "Well after Chris came back from the office we started talking again and he told me,"why did Dan lie to me about going to the principals office?" I explained as his eyes widened. "Well I just w-wanted to mess with you?" I looked at him with a weird face and my brain saying,"seriously that's all you've got for an excuse." But when he finished my last word to him before heading to class were, " yea, of course you were messing with me." And walked to class.
*Dans POV *
As soon as my awkward conversation with Valerie was done I headed to my class. The teacher was talking and at the same time I was chewing the end of a pencil and daydreaming about Valerie. I had daydreamed of us when we were little and when we first met then when we became enemies the last words I can hear was her calling my name then it was my teacher calling my name instead and going back to reality.
Dan I needed you to ask my question." The teacher said as I was biting my lip and said," May I be excused to go to the restroom?" He looked at me with a straight face and nodded yes as I walked out.
I was in the bathroom and I mainly look at myself in the mirror and said, " I do not have a crush on her seriously I do not like my mortal enemy? Do I?" I splashed myself with water from the sink until some guy was staring at me acting like an idiot. I then rushed out of the bathroom and went my way back to class.
*Valerie's POV *
I walked out of class silently with Veronica by my side, "hey aren't you going to the masquerade ball tomorrow?" She asks. "I don't know if I really want to go, I mean we don't have dates." I said sadly. "It doesn't matter no one knows who's who with the masks plus we can go together as friends?" She explains. "Ok fine." I answer. "Perfect! We can pick out our dresses after School ok?"she says. I agree with her in a head nod.
*Dans POV*
It was me alone in the hallways looking through my locker like a casual student would. I then hear high heals walking closer and closer to me until I see a girl twirling her hair and smirking. "Hi Dan!" She said in excitement. "Oh hey you must be Victoria?" I questioned. "That's correct!" She said in excitement.
Then she starts getting closer to me as I keep stepping back until I backed up into a wall then she starts talking quietly saying," Dan I have liked you ever since your first day at this school and I have to say your pretty cute." She says. Then I felt her hands around my neck then leaning in to start kissing me in the lips. I tried pulling away but she kept on pulling me closer then the last thing I heard was Valerie coming over.
* Valerie's POV *
I walked to the end of the hallway and yelled out, "Hey you!" To Dan then I quickly stopped as I saw Dan kissing another girl. My reaction was just walking away. Then I could hear Dan calling my name but I chose to ignore it.
*Dans POV *
"Listen Victoria I feel flattered that you think I'm cute but I don't like you!" I said while running away trying to catch up to Valerie.
I couldn't find her so I just resumed going back to my locker talking to Phil.
*Phils POV *
I was at my locker talking to Dan when I brought out a question, "hey Dan I was wondering if you were coming to the masquerade ball?" He responded quickly saying," no I'm not a girl I don't go to balls plus I don't even feel like going." I pouted at him. Oh come on man, Valerie will be there." I persuaded him. "She is?" He asked "Probably, let's pick out our masks and tuxedos after school, ok? I asked. He smiled as a sign to saying yes and walked back home.
*Valerie's POV *
I had went home after what happened today I had to cancel with Veronica about picking out dresses cause I didn't feel good. I was laying in bed wondering to myself if my stomach ache and my head ache are from seeing Dan and Victoria kissing in the halls. "Was I jealous?" I asked myself. Another half of myself said,"I would never like him cause he is my enemy?!" I am going shopping for the dresses and masks tomorrow with Veronica so I hope that will get what's going on out of me mind. Ugh!
