The Jefferson HotelJennifer and I walked to the back of the restaurant where my parents and Spence were sitting, they stood up once we arrived at the table, I pulled Spence into a hug first, "Hey bubba you okay?" I asked ruffling his hair. His cheeks turned red as I did so.
"Yeah, I'm good" I turned to my parents next, my mom pulled me into a brief hug then my dad kissed my cheek.
"Uh, mom, dad. I would like for you to meet Jennifer, Jennifer these are my parents. Edward and Elizabeth Prentiss"
"It's so nice to meet you both" Jennifer said, they shook her hand and we sat down for dinner. My parents caught me up on everything going on in Greece, how mom was liking the office and work there. My dad found a golfing range and Spence. Well, Spence found a hole in the wall book store.
"So, Jennifer Emily tells us that you play soccer?" My mom asked halfway through dinner.
"Uh, yes ma'am. I'm at Georgetown University on a soccer scholarship. I'm the captain of the soccer team"
"Oh that's wonderful! What are you going to school for?"
"Communications"
"Politics?"
"Oh, uh no. I'm going into the FBI academy actually. I don't really care for Politics.." I saw my mom make a face and I sighed quietly. She hates me when people aren't in politics because she hates that I'm not.
"I think everyone should be involved with politics, it's the way the world works, it's how we get things taken care of. For example, my job. I represent the President of the United States in an official capacity in foreign nations and communities. I'm in charge with protecting and promoting national interests, maintaining diplomacy, organizing visits, welcoming visitors, and supporting resolutions." I rolled my eyes as I sat back listening to my mom speak. But I have to admit Jennifer held her own against her.
Dinner ended around 10, we said our goodbyes for the night, Spence was coming back with us for the night as well.
"I'm sorry about my mom.." I said as we made our way back to my apartment, she reached over grabbing my hand.
"It's okay baby.. You don't have to apologize for her. It's her opinion and I respect that. I mean it kinda is her job to be political ya know?" I brought her hand up to my mouth pressing a kiss against her knuckles.
"Thank you" she smiles at me and I finish the drive home. Once we make it to the apartment we head upstairs to relax for the night. Jennifer and I go upstairs to put our pajamas on. We then head downstairs to Spence so we can play a few rounds of Uno, Derek and Pen also joined us later on.

I woke up to loud voices the next morning. I looked at the clock and sighed when I noticed the time. 8am. I laid and tried to make out the voices.
"Emily, all I'm saying is I don't think you should be with someone who doesn't appreciate politics! That's a slap in the face to me!"
"Mother you take anything to heart! She never said she didn't appreciate it she said she doesn't care! Just like I don't! We understand everything about it but we don't live and breathe it like you do! God stop being a bitch some times! Please!"
"Emily that is no way to talk to your mother! Spencer get your things together and meet me in the car we are leaving!" I heard the door slam and I got up throwing my robe on. I went downstairs .
"I'm sorry.." I said quietly, Emily whipped around towards me.
"What?"
"I said I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to make you and your mom fight." She sighed and walked over to me pulling me into her arms.
"Baby you didn't do anything. You can't satisfy my mother.." we helped Spence get ready, Emily gave him a envelope to take with him and some books we had found him. We said are goodbyes then he left. We sat on the couch sighing.
"That was not how I wanted you meeting my parents to go, I'm so sorry" I straddled her thighs.
"Don't apologize for her baby, I told you that. She's gonna say what she's gonna say but that doesn't change how I feel about you" she places her hands on my thighs rubbing them.
"I know.. I just. I don't know. I like you and I want my parents to like you too. I just hate that she always brings politics into any conversation."
"I know baby. But you're your own person and you think for yourself. And that's why I like you." I leaned down connecting our lips together, I placed my hands on her face then pulled back looking at her. "You're one of a kind Emily"
"You are too Jennifer.. You are too" I smiled then leaned down kissing her again, she grabbed me around the waist flipping us, I laughed as she kissed my neck.
"Run away with me" she said. I chuckled rolling my eyes.
"To where Emily?"
"Amsterdam"
"We just left there"
"I know but I love it there" she pouted and I made a sad face.
"You're so cute but we have school now. I'll run away with your later"
"Promise?" I rolled my eyes.
"I promise" I squealed as she attacked my neck again. I squirmed around laughing.
