The sun rose over the planet of Teth. Rhodes was first to awake as the rays of sunlight filtered in through a small window in the ceiling.
Rhodes took a few minutes to ready himself, fastening his gun belt to his hips and putting on his signature trench coat.
Once ready, Rhodes left his small room and moved to Lena's door. He could hear no noise from the room, so he proceeded to bang on the door.
"Lena! Time to get up. We have a job to do." Lena groaned as she lethargically got up.
She assured Rhodes she was up and began getting ready. She threw on her old body armor and strapped her knives into their various pockets on her body.
She eventually trudged out of her room to find a smiling Rhodes standing at the door to the hut. "It's about time." Lena simply rolled her eyes in response.
Rhodes chuckled and turned on Hunter. "C'mon, buddy. Let's get this mission over with." The droid let out a few beeps of approval while spinning around in circles.
Rhodes was first to leave the hut, stepping into the early morning sun. Lena and Hunter followed and the three made their way to the village square where Rose and Skye were talking at a table.
"Good morning, sleepyheads," Skye teased. Rhodes rolled his eyes and responded, "I have been up for some time. Lena, however, enjoys her rest it seems."
Lena nudged Rhodes in protest as he started to smirk. Rose stood up and motioned toward a small hut off to the side.
The crew filtered in the room and took spots around a holoprojector in the middle of the room.
Rose touched a few buttons, and a hologram of the monastery came up. Rose, who had been obsessed with freeing her village, had learned these schematics inside and out.
"This structure was once a B'omarr Order monastery and is now controlled by this tyrant. He lives in luxury in the monastery and likely spends most of his time in the throne room which is located in the center of the structure. He turned the building into a fortress, adding large durasteel doors on the entrance as well as other fortifications and security measures."
Rose continued to point out various aspects of the building. She pointed out a large platform hanging off the mesa sizeable enough to land a good-sized shuttle.
"This is where his shuttles transport his droids to and from our village as well as to and from his frigate," Rose explained. "The courtyard leads to the main doors of the monastery which are heavily guarded. I went there once to plead with him for the freedom of the village but did not get anywhere. His droids simply turned me away. The exterior of the building looks old and worn down, but the interior has state of the art security systems."
Rhodes was shaking his head. He glared at Rose saying, "So how are we supposed to get in with just us?"
Rose, knowing this question was coming, changed some settings on the holoprojector.
"I have isolated a ventilation system within the compound although I am not sure the best place to gain access. These vents connect most rooms in the facility and most importantly, the control room. This room is where communications throughout the facility and frigate are routed. This room is also heavily guarded on the outside but has few personnel actually manning it."
Lena, who was beginning to lose faith, let out a sigh and looked at Rhodes. "If we are going to do this, it isn't going to be easy."
"Nothing worth doing ever is," Rhodes replied with a smile as he walked around the table and stopped next to Rose.
