LANDON POV

Two weeks have passed since we received Dionysus' visit. Since then, I followed Jen's advice, focused on the mission "Recover my Hope". After Maya's death, Ethan decided to go back with his mother and stay away for a while. MG, Kaleb and Cleo were focused on regaining control of Cleo's magic and I turned to Lizzie for help. It had been over a week since Jen, Ben and Jed had gone on a secret mission that I couldn't figure out what it was, meaning Hope had no excuses to avoid me everywhere and all the time. I knew I couldn't count on Dr. Saltzman to bring Hope back, but Lizzie was willing to help, I think she wanted to make up in some way for helping Aurora wake up our enemies. I decided to accept her help, even without the slightest intention of giving up on Hope,

LI – So, what's your plan?

LA – I don't have one.

Lizzie rolled her eyes after looking the least bit surprised, I resolved not to be offended.

LA – All I know is that Hope is still there, we just have to find a way to access her.

LI – You make it look simple. She doesn't want to feel!

LA – But you need to! We have to bring her back. - He said almost desperately.

LI – I miss her too, Hobbit, but I don't know how we can do that.

LA – We can start by not letting her kill more people.

LI – Good luck in overseeing her nocturnal hunting trips.

LA – That's it, I've already inspected it.

LI – How so?

LA – What do you mean, there is no news of any body missing in the last month in the city or in neighboring cities. Which means she's either going too far from here to kill or...

LI – Or it's not really killing.

LA – What I need is for you to help me have time with her without her running away from me, that's all.

LI – I think I have something in mind. – she said with a mischievous face.

I saw hope and optimism light up in her eyes before she smiled. A part of Hope didn't want to give up humanity, and that was the part we were going to rescue.

POV HOPE

I was starting to get impatient. I entrusted Jen with a mission that was too important, I knew it would take time for her to return, but I wanted news. She decided to take two helpers who, by the way, would know as much as we do, and that was risky. Of the three, Jed was the only real mortal, but I didn't worry so much about that after he came to me before he left. He turned out to be smarter than I realized when he asked for my blood to go. He knew the risks and knew that being the team's deadly adventurer required extreme care. I explained only once how the process of becoming a hybrid worked, but I think he understood.

The fact that no one from the stupid squad spoke to me after Maya's death helped me focus on a side operation: finding the vampire bitch who turned me over to the gods. I used the triad wolves, who had to obey me as alpha, to hunt down Aurora and inform me of her whereabouts. I was preparing for an astral projection contact when I heard my bedroom door slam.

H – Oh, for God's sake, what do you want now? - She said, rolling her eyes and returning to focus on the spell.

There you. Back. To you for real.

H – Bad news for you Landon, this is the real me now, deal with it.

LA – I don't believe you, I know your humanity is still there, just waiting for a chance to get out. - He said looking at me naively with those green eyes.
