thank you for reading! :D

Summer reigned overhead Liyue Harbor in sweet sun and thin, sparsely laid clouds.

Summer cried loud laughter through the streets, by way of the children's joyous sounds of play and the light footsteps of adults cheerfully milling about the markets.

Summer shone down heat, and offered a sweet breeze in apology. It was all extraordinarily wonderful, really. But you preferred winter.

You yawned widely and sat up in bed, only to find that your sheets, covers, and blankets- the whole shebang, really- had fallen off your bed while you slept. Or more likely, had been violently kicked off in pursuit of cooler air. And yet, your skin still felt sweaty, sticky, and hot. Not a great way to start the morning. As if that wasn't enough, the night had left a gross taste on your tongue as well, as if you'd been drooling while unconscious. You hated when that happened. Not that anyone was too fond of the experience, you supposed.

You flopped back heavily onto your pillow and groaned. Your distress must have echoed through the old apartment, too, because your roommate peeked around the doorframe to your shared bedroom right on que.

"Eh?" The dark haired girl raised an eyebrow at your dramatic composure- spread eagle posture and fiery glaring expression. She held in a chuckle. "Oh, mornin'! I didn't wake ya', did I?" She asked the former phrase teasingly, as if she could clearly foresee the answer.

"No no, you're all good," You assured. "I just- I. Hate. Summer." You responded, continuing your heated staring match with the ceiling as you verbalized the annoyance. This warranted a hearty laugh from your roommate.

"Well lets leave pessimist (y/n) behind and get movin'! You promised to help me spread performance flyers today, remember?" She said, cheery and kind demeanor betraying the guitarists naturally harsh tone.

"Xinyannn," You pleaded, turning over to face the (shorter/taller) girl. You glanced around your home for some- any- form of bribery to free you of the responsibility. Your eyes landed on Xinyan's bed across the room, neat and tidy as were all her other belongings. Then to your own mattress, which in contrast, was.. not any of those things. You smirked. "I'll make my bed if you let me stay home today."

Surprisingly to some, especially to her fans, despite Xinyan's chaotic rock 'n roll appearance, she preferred to keep a clean and organized home. Usually, you did your part to keep it that way, as you didn't want to cause your friend any affliction, but the ugly weather had made you a little lazier than usual. And apparently mean as well, because you knew that you could use this to your advantage, even if only jokingly.

Xinyan contemplated for a moment, but seemed to resist the temptation, as she begrudgingly said, "Hmph! I like it better that way. Besides, I know you, and you're only like this when you first wake up. Once I get some food in you, you oughta be wholly yourself again!" She winked.

"But you can't cook," You stated. Xinyan opened her mouth to confidently protest, but you interrupted her with a light laugh. "Dummy, I didn't mean you're a bad cook. Your yakisoba lately has left an especially lingering impact. Thing is, we just don't have any groceries."

"Ya' sure,," Xinyan cocked an eyebrow, turning away from the doorway and back into your shared kitchen for a brief moment. You waited patiently as she quickly searched the cabinets and tables for some decent form of sustenance. She soon returned to your sight, assumedly unvictorious. "Well, fair enough then! So.. once I buy you some food." She corrected with a grin. You smiled,
