"So uh, where are we going again?" You asked, nervous for any sort of unknowns headed your way. Yoimiya set down her order sheet and turned to wink at you playfully. The finger guns were a little much, but you still thought it was cute.

"To have some fun." She cheered.

"But uh- where?"

"It's a surprise!"

You were never too fond of surprises, but coming all the way here to Inazuma, and deciding to stay with a stranger was already far enough a leap, you figured you'd go the extra step and just attempt flexibility for once. So when Yoimiya rushed out the Naganohara's back door, you though 'what the hell' and went ahead and followed.

But then again, by the time you'd ran behind her for a mile through the not-so-easy roads of Narukami you had begun to regret that decision a little.

"Why," You bent down to place your hands on your knees, out of breath. "Are we all the way down by the shore," You whispered this last part in vain of your previous lack of exercise, "Why, gods, why?" You'd come up with a slew of insults to throw at your past self later for this pain assaulting your not so muscley muscles.

"Because!" Yoimiya put her hands on her hips, with excited purpose. "Last week the kiddos around here I play with told my friend Itto that he couldn't beat me in a game of throwing the square. And Itto gets a little competitive, so he challenged me to prove in front of them that he, in fact, could. Beat me, that is. I could easily beat him on my own, but I thought maybe you'd like to help me out here. So let's teach 'em a lesson! Could be fun."

"Throw the square, huh. I used to play that with a group of kids that hung around the harbor when I was little," You reminisced. "Until of course I found out that they excluded my friend Xinyan purposefully because she scared them, then I just played with her from then on." Spite is a wonderful thing. You smiled proudly to yourself; caught up in the moment, and in the grudge which you still held strong for those little idiots. You shook yourself out of the memory and continued, "I was alright back then, but I doubt my skills have persisted through the years."

"Well I can carry you if it hasn't! Ah look, here they are!"

You followed Yoimiya's pointing finger to see a couple of children following close behind a tall, outwardly smug, himbo-lookin dude. He looked like someone you'd be friends with, and it's always difficult to tell whether or not that's a compliment.

"YoiYoi!" Mr. Himbo called, waving a large hand as the kids around him snickered playfully.

"I thought I told him not to call me that." Yoimiya muttered under her breath, frowning slightly. At this, you were hit with two unfamiliar emotions. One, anger towards the idiot that put on the first frown you'd seen on her face yet. And two, that you were witnessing a close relationship of hers and that maybe you- envied that? Because she is, in just a word, amazing. Incredible, maybe- no, definitely. And definitely the first person who had made you feel this way in under seventeen hours.

Still, you thought 'YoiYoi' sounded cute, so you cut the guy some slack.

"Alright, let me introduce everyone!" Yoimiya exclaimed, clapping her hands, as the odd group approaching made their way closer to the seaside. "Arataki Itto, (l/n) (y/n). (y/n), Midori, Kotomi, Kouichi, and Saika."

"Hi!" Kotomi waved to you cheerfully. You couldn't help but smile back, and Yoimiya seemed to notice, glancing over at you in something akin to admiration.

"New friend, hell yeah." Itto offered a handshake. You took it hesitantly, bothered slightly by the existence of men in your near vicinity. "So if you brought help," Himbo gestured towards you. "Then do I get a teammate, or did you think that I'd really need a whole persons worth of a handicap." He smirked.

Okay it was more than a slight bother.

"Yeah yeah, you can recruit one of the crowd." Yoimiya answered.

"Oh! Me!" Saika cheered, jumping up and down.

"Hmm let me think.." Itto tapped his chin in false contemplation. As soon as little Saika began to frown, he waved her over. "Of course it's you, kid. I'm sure that one's got barely half of the talent you do." He crouched down, and stuck his thumb in your direction.

"Hey!" You protested. "At least get to know me first before you go around telling me the truth like that." Glowering, you crossed your arms. Itto turned and stuck his tongue out at you. Definitely someone you'd be friends with. Not a compliment.

"So! (y/n), Itto, Saika," Yoimiya paused for dramatic effect. "Audience.." The other kids grinned. "Let's go over the rules first, (y/n)?" You assumed this was your que to explain the game and put aside your anxiety to begin,

"Yeah okay. So Midori over there's already drawing the squares. Essentially, we'll have a line drawn a little ways away from them, and our two teams will each have an object. Say, a rock or something. We'll take turns placing our object in one of the side by side boxes drawn, and the other team tries throwing their object into that same square. Two points if they make it, one if they make it in the wrong box, and none if they miss completely." You looked over to Yoimiya for nervous confirmation. She nodded.

"Let's play to fifteen?"

"Sounds good," Itto established. "Winner gets bragging rights."

"Wonderful. Very not egotistic." The sarcasm slipped by your lips before you could censor it, but little to no regret followed.

"Well, what's a man without his ego, right?" Itto said.

"A.. more well adjusted man." Saika mumbled. You laughed genuinely and high-fived her. Maybe you could get along with this crowd. Unbeknownst to you, Yoimiya had watched this adorable interaction, and now smiled at you as you crouched down to lay down a game plan with the kids.

"Let's get started already." Kouichi grumbled impatiently, snapping Yoimiya out of her stupor.

"R-right! Uh huh, let's do that!"
