(A/N)

hello again! ^^

welcome back:

"So, what do you think?" Xinyan asked, regarding her previous proposal.

You'd spent the day wandering around town putting up flyers, as well as questioning friendly faces you ran into about the summer festival. From this you learned that the girl Xinyan had mentioned earlier was way more popular than she'd made it sound. Not only does apparently everyone in Inazuma know her name, but everyone you'd talked to here too. It had also become apparent that maybe, just maybe, the festival didn't sound quite as bad as you might have thought. Especially if those fireworks were really as awe-inspiring as everyone had attested to.

After a few hours of these revelations, however, your legs had grown tired, and your stack of flyers, thin. So you and your roommate decided to rendezvous at Wanmin restaurant for dinner and, after you'd filled up, had returned home where you were currently laying on the floor, exhausted.

"About what?" You asked, feigning ignorance because you were too stubborn to admit that the festival- which you knew was the source of her quandary- actually sounded sort of fun. Despite it being summer and all..

"Inazuma's summer festival. Did you think about what I said? About going to check it out, that is."

"Well-" You started.

"Yes?" Xinyan raised her eyebrows, expectant.

"If you really don't need me here, then I guess-"

"I don't," She interrupted, smirking slightly. "Time for you to start packing." Xinyan decided, clearly proud of herself for finally getting through to you about taking a break for yourself. She then promptly walked over towards your shared room to begin opening your dresser drawers. Assumedly to get you started packing.

"Wow, someone wants me out of the house fast." You said sarcastically, rolling your eyes.

"I do not," Xinyan said as she grabbed a bag from under her bed, clearly not able to detect the sarcasm in your voice. "I just think it'd be crazy rock n' roll for you to loosen up a little!"

You smiled. You knew that she didn't mean to call you uptight, and that's why you were more grateful than offended. She could never offend you anyway, you didn't think that a single word you'd ever heard leave Xinyan's mouth was ill intended. Even if it did sound intimidating coming with that scary gaze of hers.

"How am I supposed to get there, though," You asked, genuinely concerned that she might make you swim all the way if it meant you'd be forced to have some fun. "I don't have a boat. And I'm pretty certain all the fishermen hate me too much to give me a ride."

Xinyan paused her packing for a moment, "Why do the fishermen hate you?"

"You know.. The duck incident.. Please don't make me recount it."

"Oh. Right," Xinyan moved on promptly, much to your exultation. Never again did you want to relive your duck trauma. Or more accurately, the duck trauma you gave all the warf's fishermen that day. "Well, why don't you ask Beidou?"

"Hmm," You thought aloud. "While last time I saw her she did mention owing me a favor, so I suppose I could get her to help me out. But I don't want to bother her crew with the trip."

"Forget the favor, Beidou would do it for free if it was for ya! She's quite fond of you, you know. Says she wishes you'd join her crew."

You snorted. "Are you kidding? I have zero coordination. I'd be thrown over if a fish nudged the hull. But I guess I will ask her. Yeah, okay. Tomorrow though."
