Pete was awoken by the unfamiliar ring of someone else's alarm. He fluttered open his tired eyes, rubbing them together and creating a slight stinging sensation from the friction. He blissfully enjoyed the first few seconds of his day before the soul crushing events of the previous came seeping to the forefront of his thoughts. For a very brief moment, he convinced himself it was all an awful nightmare, but that theory became debunked the moment he lifted his head up and realized he was actually in Brendon's dorm. It was real, Mikey actually ended their relationship last night. Despite the severity of Mikey's words, Pete still had a small sliver of hope that the Mikey he had known was still there and still had feelings for him. He just had to figure out how to find him. As he began to strategize, he noticed that Brendon and Josh were frantically pacing around the dorm, getting ready as if they were in a rush. He then peeked over his shoulder to look at the alarm on Brendon's nightstand. Adrenaline pushed through his pulse as he came to the realization that the morning sermon began in 15 minutes, and that he didn't have any of his uniforms or toiletries to get ready. He realized that he was going to have to go back to his dorm room where Mikey could very well still be. He hopped up off the floor and told Brendon and Josh that he would see them at the sermon. Then, he feverishly left the dorm, rushing but still not going too fast in fear that Mikey would still be there. He wasn't ready to confront him yet.

Thankfully, Mikey had already been long gone by the time he had arrived to the dorm. With only 13 minutes to spare at that point, he urgently threw on the first clean uniform he saw. He then raced to the bathroom to brush his teeth, sporadically combing a brush through his hair as he did so. Afterwards, he sprayed some cologne and slipped his shoes on before grabbing his notebook. Just as he was about to leave for the sermon, his eyes darted to Mikey's bed. It was completely made up, the exact same way it was before. He knew Mikey had a tendency to not make his bed, but he never understood why since Mikey was generally a very put together, organized guy. He also knew that the only reason it was even made was because he had made it for Mikey the day before while he was gone all day. This was very suspicious to Pete. In an attempt to investigate further he glanced over to his own bed, which was completely disheveled and unmade. The detail that was the most damning was the tear stained pillowcase. Just before he could even process the implications those tears held, the door swung open. Pete's heart stopped dead in its tracks before he realized It was just Brendon and Josh.

"Seven minutes, let's go," Brendon yelled obnoxiously. Josh rolled his eyes before adding on to Brendon's original statement.

"We figured you probably wouldn't wanna walk down alone," He smiled. Pete nodded before wordlessly speed walking with them to the sermon.

They arrived with barely a minute and a half to spare. Pete chose to sit in the back with Brendon and his crew instead of with Mikey as he normally would. Still, he allowed himself to scan the front pew for the boy. To his surprise, he wasn't sitting alone. Next to him was a girl with longish brunette hair. She was turned to Mikey in a way that gave Pete a view of her side profile. He didn't recognize her, but he did recognize the look she was giving him. He could tell by the way her cheeks flushed when he said something to her that she was definitely into him, despite being so far away from the pair. Pete turned to Josh. "Hey, do you know who that chick sitting with Mikey is? I'm not sure I know her," he asked nervously, mentally hoping he was wrong and that they were just cousins or something. Sadly, his intuition was (almost) right.

"That's Alicia, she's like, known for liking Mikey. It's honestly creepy. I wouldn't worry about it, though, he's never shown much interest in her." Josh explained, turning to the front since the sermon was beginning. An out of tune organ began to hum a mediocre melody as the morning speaker walked to the front of the chapel. Pete opened his notebook as if he was anticipating to take notes, but instead he began to write about Mikey.
