when you are on your period

"Happy 1000th-day anniversary y/n!" Taehyun called out as he walked into the living room holding a small cupcake from the bakery you absolutely loved and a bouquet of fresh vibrant tulips. "I got you your favourite red velvet cupcake and tulips." "Thank you Taehyun! I have something for you too." You said, reaching behind you and retrieving a carefully wrapped gift, and you gave it to him, beckoning for him to open it. "What's inside?" "Open it." You said, smiling fondly at him as he unwrapped the gift. 

A beautiful and thoughtfully designed scrapbook was sitting in his hands. It was a scrapbook filled with letters and pictures that you had written to him and taken with him since day 1 of your relationship and had planned to give to him on your 1000th day together. You would often sit on your bed and write about how thankful you were to have met him, flipping through the pictures, reminiscing about the memories the two of you shared. "I love it, thank you y/n!" He opened his arms wide for a hug and you leaned in, smiling against his chest. The two of you had come so far, and had faced challenges together, celebrating your 1000th-day anniversary was such a joyful occasion. 

"Should we have a quick lunch, flip through the pretty scrapbook you made, have a movie marathon, and then eat dinner later? I reserved a restaurant for us and I think you'll like it a lot, given that you always love food." Taehyun suggested, running his fingers through your hair.

"Okay, sounds good, I'll go make lunch for us, salad? Since we're most likely going to eat till we burst at night." You chuckled knowingly as he nodded in agreement.

After finishing your meal of vegetables and warm soup, the two of you settled down on the couch in front of the television after making a fort with blankets and throw cushions and began to flip through the scrapbook, laughing at the funny moments and photos, and smiling fondly at almost every picture. When you finished looking through the pages, the two of you decided to choose movies to watch while sipping hot chocolate with mini marshmallows. After debating on a few movies, you finally decided on "Inception". Even though Taehyun had watched it many times, he wanted you to try watching it at least once and convinced you to watch it after stating many reasons on why it was interesting and worth watching, and of course, you had to agree.

Halfway through the movie, you felt a sharp pain in your lower abdomen and shifted positions to try and ease the pain but it was not working. You wanted to go check if it was your monthly horror that came but didn't have the heart to tell Taehyun as he was focused on the screen and enjoying himself. "Woah, that was good, what did you think about it y/n?" Taehyun asked, looking down at you to see your reaction to his favourite movie. However, he frowned when he saw you grimacing and putting a hand on your stomach as if you were uncomfortable. "What's wrong y/n? Does your stomach hurt?" "Yea...I think my period came. I'll go check, you can start another movie first, I'll be right back." 

You stood up and were about to walk away when you realised that you had stained the couch. "Oh no." You muttered as he glanced at the couch. "Y/n, go take a warm bath, I'll take care of the couch." He immediately jumped up, led you to the washroom, started a warm bath, and passed you fresh clothes to change into as you just stood there, feeling half-dead and super thankful.

But then you realised you forgot to stock up on your supply of pads and let out a frustrated groan. "Taehyun, I think I don't have any more pads, can you go get them for me at the convenience store?" "I'll be right back y/n, wait for me." The door slammed as he ran to the nearest store to find pads for you. At the convenience store, he was confused with all the brands and types, not knowing what you needed, he quickly called you. "Uh, y/n, which brand and type do you need? There are so many I have no idea which to get." After you told him, he assured you that he would be back soon, grabbed some snacks and ran back to the house. "Y/n, I'm back, I left the things outside the washroom door." He said, placing them on the floor as close as he could to the door so that you could reach them easily. 

After the bath, he made you lie down on the bed and set some snacks beside you and even passed you a hot water bottle for your stomach. "Is there anything I missed out on?" He muttered to himself and you chuckled, amused. "Where did you learn all these from?" You asked, gesturing to the items lying around you. "I sort of uh asked Kai about this stuff in case you might need it because he has two sisters so he probably knows much more than me." He replied, scratching the nape of his neck and looking embarrassed. "How was it buying pads at the convenience store though?" You chuckled as he groaned. "It was super weird and an old lady was just staring at me judgementally."

"I'm sorry for not stocking up, have I ever told you how you're the best? But what about the dinner reservation? " "Yep, I know I'm the best. And for the reservation, it's ok, I'll just cancel it, we can go another day when you're feeling better. For today, we'll just stay at home and I'll cook dinner, how does that sound?" He answered simply, shrugging and making your heart swell with love for this thoughtful man standing in front of you and amused at his high level of self-confidence. "Awesome." You replied, thinking how lucky you were to be spending 1000 days and hopefully more to come with Taehyun.
