More Of That Kissin' Stuff

I roll over the next morning greeted by the bright sun shining directly in my face. 'Good morning to you too,' I think to myself. I decide the best thing for me to do is roll back over, and that's when my alarm goes off. I reach over and grab my phone to snooze It, but I probably shouldn't since its already 10 minutes passed when I usually get up for school. I just turn it off and throw my duvet off. As soon as my feet hit the floor I sorely miss my warm bed. Its a shame school starts so early, I do my best work after 11 am. I'm debating which tee shirt to wear when my phone dings.

Greyson: "Goodmornin' darlin'! You need a ride to school?" I smile.

Me: "Nope, not today. Meet you there though?" I wait a minute before setting my phone down.

Greyson: "Sounds good."

I throw my phone on the bed and tell my Alexa to play my country playlist on Spotify. I'm suddenly way happier than I was just five minutes ago. I decide on a worn "Cadillac Ranch" tee and a pair of flared jeans with my handy dandy cowboy boots. I walk to my adjoined bathroom and plug in my curling iron. While its heating I brush my teeth and my hair. When the little screen with the temperature turns green I know its ready for use. I loosely curl my long blonde hair. When its finished I grab my bag, gum, and my headphones. I run down the stairs knowing I'm a little behind schedule and grab my keys and a banana. Mom wasn't in the kitchen and her car is gone so I assume she's gone to work already.

Sliding into the drivers seat I start the engine on my 1976 CJ 8 Green Jeep. My dad had this jeep and a red and white, lifted Chevrolet K5 Blazer that he left to me and my mom but she had no interest so she let me have them, plus I have the truck they bought me when I turned 16. I leave my driveway and head for school. When I arrive the parking lot is already packed. I find a spot almost all the way in the back. I turn off the ignition and unbuckle, sitting there for a moment. When I gather the strength to not go home I grab my things and head inside. Tucking a piece of hair behind my ear I open the front doors and find the common room full of all kinds of different people. We only have a couple hundred students, but it seems like thousands.

The first bell should be ringing soon, so I head to my locker to quickly put my things away. when I turn the corner I find Grey leaning against my locker with a coffee in one hand and his phone in the other. No books, no bag, not even a pencil.

"Well hello there." I smirk and nudge him out of the way so I can open my locker.

"Hello," He smiles, "This is for you." He stretches the coffee out to me.

"Why thank you." I shove my stuff into my locker and take the drink form him.

"No problem at all." He now leans on the locker next to mine.

"Where's all your stuff?" I question. He pulls a pencil out of his back jean pocket. I stand corrected, he does have a pencil.

"Ah, you like to keep it basic huh?"

"Sure do darlin'." He never stopped smiling. I roll my eyes and grab the book I need for my first class. Walking towards said class he follows me.

"Hey Lenny?" He grabs my hand and pulls me to a stop.

"Yes Grayson?" I turn towards him.

"I'd sure like to more of that kissin' stuff from last night." He says this leaned in close to my ear.

"I'm sure you would Grey, but I don't do that sorta stuff in school. Sorry." I quickly turn my head while his mouth is close to my ear and smack a kiss on his cheek.

"That's all you get... For now." I smile and walk into class right as the bell rings, he doesn't follow.

I sit in my usual seat in the back row, just because I'm the head cheerleader doesn't mean I like to be front and center all the time. Sarah comes in five minutes late and sits next to me. It doesn't matter she came in late because the teacher is always 10-15 minutes late. Everyone just visits until she comes.
