"One Cookie dough icecream, and a chocolate tub." Sherlyn said to Ardeth, as he walked towards the icecream store.
"I know." Ardeth shook his head and walked towards the queue.
Sherlyn began to take a stroll along the lane, examining the neatly trimmed shrubs as she waited for Ardeth to join her.
"Well, well, whom do we have here?"
Sherlyn turned around fast as a light as she heard someone speak behind her.
"Tristan." Sherlyn said looking at Ardeth 's elder brother.
"Oh, you do remember the brother of your indigent, grief-stricken boy friend." Tristan remarked.
"What do you want?" Sherlyn said ignoring his comments.
"My brother." Tristan's answer was immediate, "If not for you he would have joined my father and I in the business, and would have been leading a luxurious life where he could have got everything at his beck and call. It's because of you, he is struggling and leading a poverty-stricken life. You are the reason for his struggles."
"You thought that Ardeth would come to you, if I wasn't there in his life?" Sherlyn questioned, "He left the home three years ago, I met him 10 months ago, you had two years to get him back, but you weren't able to. Don't blame me for your incapability."
"You..."
"Don't think you could come and blame me, and I would take your shit. I respect you as the elder brother of the person I love, don't lose it with your high-headed foolish behaviour." Sherlyn said, "If you had been a good brother, Ardeth wouldn't have left the home, you are a spineless man, who is scared of crossing your father's words. I am happy Ardeth isn't like you."
"How dare you!" Tristan shouted. "You are nothing but a gold-digger, who is trying to make your way to riches, using Ardeth as a bait; don't ever think that you and that bastard child of yours..."
Tristan was cut off by Ardeth, who punched on his face, making him stumble and go to the ground.
"One more word about the girl I love or our child, I would skin you alive , Tristan." Ardeth warned fisting his hands in a death grip. "I never wanted your riches or nor we will ever dream of it, we are better off without it. I atleast had a respect for you as my elder brother but today making such a loathing comments on a girl, you lost it."
"You are fool to let go of all the wealth to rot in the poverty for a good for nothing girl." Tristan dared to speak.
"I told you not to take a word against my girl." Ardeth growled pouncing on Tristan and punching him, as the latter unsuccessfully tried to punch Ardeth back.
"Ardeth...stop!" Sherlyn cried as she helplessly watched two men rain punches on eachother.
"What's happening here?" The security guards came running towards the fighting men, and pulled them apart.
"If I see you anywhere near my family, I will kill you." Ardeth said wiping the blood from the corner of his bruised lip.
"You are going to regret, what you did Ardeth." Tristan said as the security guard pulled him away, "You both are going to." He said looking at Sherlyn.
"Are you okay?" Ardeth asked Sherlyn.
"I should be the one asking you that." Sherlyn said touching Ardeth's bruised lip.
"It's not that as bad as what Tristan got." Ardeth smiled smugly, "That fucker's gonna have a black eye, which would remind him to never mess with my family."
"I am sorry for what happened." Sherlyn said sadly.
"He deserved that, and to be honest I wanted to do that for a long time, so I have no regrets." Ardeth smiled, "Anyways, leave about him we have more important things, like the melting icecream." He said pulling Sherlyn towards their car.
