In 2018, The pager was being held by a bot with the Captain Marvel symbol showing. Second later, the pager turned off. In another room, The Avengers were dealing with the consequences of the failed counterattack against Thanos that lead to the decimation process as they return to the New Avengers Headquarters.
It had been about a week and a half since Thanos snapped. Quietly, Scarlet grabbed some food before joining Nat and Steve in a side room. They were watching hologram numbers continue to rise as the population counts and death tolls came in.

"This is a nightmare," Steve stated.
"I've had better nightmares," Natasha replied. They both kept looking at the hologram in silence until Nat decided to break it. "How is she today?"
Steve shook his head and looked down. "I don't know." He sighed. "She won't let me in... I visit her, hold her hand for hours, but... nothing. She's still only responding to Pepper, and even that's just a little... I'm afraid Rhodey was right. She's gone."
"No kidding." Scarlet said quietly, playing with her food.
"Hey," Rhodey called, coming into the room. The other three turned to look at him. "So that thing just stopped doing whatever the hell it was doing."
Rhodey, Nat, Scarlet, and Steve hurried to where Bruce was analyzing the pager.
"What have we got?" Natasha asked.
"Whatever the signal is sending, it finally creeped off," Bruce answered.
"I thought we bypassed the battery," Steve stated.
"We did," Rhodey responded. "It's still plugged in, it just... it just stopped."
"Reboot and send the signal again." Steve instructed.

"We don't even know what this is." Bruce countered.
"Fury did," Natasha replied. "Just do it, please. You tell me the second you get a signal. I want to know who's on the other end of that thing."
Natasha turned around only to freeze in her tracks. The others quickly spun around to see a woman standing in front of them.
Scarlet smiled softly seeing her old friend. "Carol."
"Where's Fury?" Carol asked.
