Chapter 6: Shining bells and gentle hearts

It wasn't like she didn't expect this... scratch that, she didn't expect this at all!

Ever since these two started to learn how to walk it's been up to (Y/n) to help them, but what she didn't expect was that they would follow her everywhere!

Seriously! Both Camilo and Mirabel were already a chaos duo when they were just crawling and sleeping, but now that had learned how to walk they would cause mischief every chance they got! And not only that but when they started to walk both of them would either follow (Y/n) like ducklings and go everywhere she went or whenever they were with her dad Bruno they would hide under his poncho.

But right now, (Y/n) was with her papá in the kitchen, at this point in her life she was able to walk on her own. For a three-year-old, she could do a lot of things, with supervision of course. 

They were making sandwiches and bollo de yuca, not the most elaborate recipe but it was easy for (Y/n) to help out in making them well the sandwich part that is, she helped a little with the bollos. We'll it would be easy if it weren't for Marco who was on top of her head slipped and now on her face. 

"Haha, you've got something on your face (Y/n)." Bruno laughed at his daughter who was trying to pry the rat off their face. Cleaning his hand with a towel he then grabbed Marco and put him on the ground letting him scurry away to who knows where. 

"Everything ok now?" He asked. (Y/n) nodded before putting the last of the sandwich on a pyramid of food. Bruno chuckled, taking the heavy plate of food he head outside with (Y/n) trailing behind.

The ¹plaza was packed like always, vendors selling stuff like food or ²artesanías and other trinkets like clothing and toys such as ³papalotes and soccer balls. 

Bruno and (Y/n) weaved through the crowd as fast as possible and reached the center where Julieta was at with her table full of food she prepared and a very long line of injured people waiting to be healed and Yaira who was entertaining people with her clouds. 

But they immediately hid away when a group of adults passed by them. It was no secret that Bruno was considered "bad luck" to the townspeople and they don't like it when he goes out into town but that's not a problem since he doesn't like going outside. 

Except for today they were going to visit (Y/n)'s grandparents and they lived on the other side of the town plus the quickest way was to pass the plaza. 

Peeking out from their hide away Bruno let out a sigh of relief and ushered (Y/n) so they could move on. ⁴Por pelito de rana calva they were almost spotted but with quick thinking, they made it to their destination. 

They stood in front of a house with colored doors and windows, the walls were covered with plant growth, flowers were scattered everywhere! ⁵Buganvilias, claveles, geranios, flor de azúcar, heliconia, hibiscus, and so many other types were growing around the place. 

Bruno knocked on the door waiting for someone to open it, standing back (Y/n) stood near him with a small plate of sandwiches over her head. Then the door started to creak before it was flung open and two white and brown blurs crashed into them.

"OOF—!" The air got knocked out of them and they tumbled to the ground, the food flying through the sky luckily some managed to survive but not all of it. 

Both Bruno and (Y/n) were now covered with food and dirt as they lay on the floor, the two blurs were jumping around excitedly, now with a clearer view, the blurs were two dogs.
