As the clock marked the end of his shift, he groaned and looked over to his coworker who was collecting his things.

"You sure about this Tom? I know your ride has work soon and I-"

Tom waved him off. "Its fine. I'm a man of my word. Go home and get some rest and I'll see you tomorrow."

And so there he stayed for another two hours. He had messaged Edd saying he wouldn't need a ride today and was dreading the bus ride home.

All the day shift staff were confused to see him but brushed it off. He was glad, as he was too tired to even want to socialize with people who aren't customers. So when the clock struck 10, you bet your ass he was the first to clock out. Without saying anything to anyone he just nodded and ran out.

He rushed to the bus stop hoping to stay catch the 10 am bus. But as luck would have it, it had been down the road as he arrived. He'd always catch a ride with Edd before he left for work so he wasn't too familiar with the bus times.

Before getting upset, he looked over the bus schedule and found that the next one was due to arrive in less than half an hour. Figuring he had enough time, he went back to the gas station and back where they made the pizza.

When they rung him up, he grabbed a water as they looked at him oddly, but he only took his pizza and drink and left without a word. Looking up at the sky he could tell that it would soon rain. He sat down at the bus stop, setting his bag back next to him and watched the clouds as he ate his pizza.

Still waiting around, he opened his water and went to take the first sip when a man came running towards him. Upon seeing Tom, he stopped to catch his breath.

"Did I- did I miss-"

Out of pitty, Tom offered the man his water, which he gladly accepted. "No, the next bus should be here any minute now."

After a few more sips, the man sighed in relief. "Thank goodness. Thought we already missed it."

It was then that Tom noticed the mans accent. He studied the man as he sat down next to him. Was he wearing some sort of uniform?

"Ah, I hope it's alright with you if my friends join the wait." The man pointed to the end of the block. There was a man with bushy eyebrows in almost the exact outfit as him walking next to someone holding a newspaper in front of them.

Though, it was what he could see of the hidden man that sent Tom into a silent panic. Two red horns.

He quickly grabbed his bag and stood up. "I've got to go."

He turned away and sped away, only to hear the man call out to him. The bus must be near.

Fuck it, I'll walk.

Pulling up his hood, he decided that walking the two miles home was better for now. Looking up to the sky now crowded with heavy clouds, he was in for quite a shower.
