"I got you a surprise. It's like an early Christmas present" Margot handed him something square shaped wrapped in silver wrapping paper. She had even attempted to tie a bow on the top of it but it looked more like an infinity sign. Charlie carefully ripped the wrapping paper open, inside it was a book. Margot's favourite book, the book she always had in her hands.

"Margot... You can't give this to me, it's your favourite." he tried to give the book back but she refused. She took the book and opened it up for him and handed it back. Inside there was an envelope. He lifted up the envelope and wanted to open it but noticed it saying "Open up on Christmas :)" he put the envelope down.

"It was my favourite, it's yours now." she insisted. Charlie shrugged his shoulders and put it in his backpack. Margot went in for a hug, Charlie grabbed her around the waist. She then waved goodbye and hopped onto her motorcycle. He went inside.

"Who's that?" his mom asked, sitting on the couch with their cat on her lap. Charlie sat down next to her, on the television a reality show was playing, Charlie's mom always watches those. Charlie's dad thinks they're stupid.

"Just a girl in my class, her name is Margot." he petted Caramel on the head until Caramel came and sat on his lap. She purred as he caressed her back, it was her favourite spot to get petted.

"You should invite her for dinner sometime." his mom said, Caramel jumped down on the floor and Charlie got up from the couch. Margot wasn't the type that moms liked, she smelt like cigarettes and didn't have table manners. She rode a motorcycle and had black eyeliner underneath her eyes.

Charlie's mom got her way, and managed to get Charlie to get Margot to come over for dinner. Charlie instantly regretted his decision. He heard the doorbell ring. He looked at himself in the mirror before taking a deep breath and walking down to open the door.

"Hello!" Margot said, she had a leather jacket and a black dress on. Charlie just hoped that his mom wouldn't get a heart attack when she saw her. Margot went inside his house, it was everything she dreamt of a child. She looked at the baby pictures on the wall, Charlie's family was truly the sitcom perfect family.

Charlie's mom headed into the living room when she heard voices. It looked like her jaw had dropped on the floor and was dragging behind her. She looked like she nearly dropped the cupcakes she had in her hands.

"Oh... You're Margot right...?" she said, super slowly. Margot nodded her head, and they all walked into the dining room. Charlie's parents sat across from Charlie and Margot. They looked at each other for a long moment before starting to eat.

"I love your house!" Margot said with her mouth filled with food, Charlie's mom did that thing that she always did at parent meetings and such. The fake smile, Charlie called it. Her eyes was super wide and her mouth was stretched into a smile so wide it hurt to look at.

"Thanks." Charlie's dad said, trying to make the situation less awkward. Charlie wanted to die right there and then. He wanted to go back in time and never tell Margot to come over and tell his mom that she said no. It was too late for that.

"So how's school? There must be a lot of studying right now, Charlie has been stuck in his room for hours studying." his mom laughed, wrong question mom Charlie thought. Margot drank the water in her cup like you do at a party when people scream shot! shot! behind u

"Oh school's good. I'm not the studying type. I mostly like hanging out with my friends and stuff." Charlie's mom nodded her head slowly.

"I have to head to the bathroom!" Charlie's mom lied before getting up and almost running to the bathroom. Charlie's mom held her nose and mouth closed as she passed by Margot. Charlie's dad looked calm about the situation.

"You like tennis?" he asked, minding his business. Charlie was practically drenched in sweat at that point, he kept rubbing the back of his head as he watched the action unfold.

"I used to play tennis when I was younger." Margot answered while picking at her food, his dad's face lit up and his frown turned into a huge smile. He bended over the kitchen table and clapped Margot on the table.

"Welcome to the family!" Charlie's dad yelled.
