Long Lost Daughter

Disaster

Whilst Dr. Robbins was in surgery you decided to try and get some rest as you hadn't been chosen to scrub in. You were pretty upset about it but you knew you would eventually get to scrub in on a surgery. Your eyes were closed but you just couldn't get to sleep all you could think about was Dr. Torres and if she was really your mum or if you had made it all up. The chances of it actually being her were very slim but you believed in miracles so you didn't give up. After a while you finally got to sleep.

You woke up to your new best friends voice telling you we were supposed to go and meet Dr. Robbins as she wanted to show us something. You were very excited and didn't know what to expect but you were hoping it was something amazing! You entered the ER and couldn't believe what you were seeing 4 children had been in a rollercoaster crash. Luckily it was a child's rollercoaster so it hadn't fallen from too high but they all looked severely injured. Dr. Robbins wanted all of you to help but only you and one other intern ran over so she told the rest of them to go away and let her work if they weren't going to help. They all ran away like chickens whilst you and your best friend Thalia stayed with Robbins. They were still in the rollercoaster seat so you all had to remove them one by one. It was terrifying but you had never felt adrenaline like it in your life it was great. You unplugged one of their seatbelts and removed them from the seat but blood started spraying everywhere. You didn't know what happened and where it was coming from. Arizona was not pleased with you but she didn't have time to get annoyed as she had to rush the child to the OR immediately. She told you to page Dr. Matthews who was the trauma surgeon to help you remove the rest of the children and told Thalia to go scrub in with her. I could tell Thalia felt guilty but i told her to go before Robbins changed her mind.

Dr. Matthews asked what happened but to be honest you didn't really know. You didn't think you had caused it but you weren't sure, but you hoped it wasn't your fault and that the child would be okay. When you and Dr. Matthews removed another child you noticed her arm was basically back to front. Her elbow was at the front and it definitely didn't look right. Dr. Matthews told you to page Dr. Torres as she was chief of ortho you got a bit nervous but just acted normal when she came over. She didn't even glance at you as she was to busy with the little girl but you were kind of happy about it because you didn't want her to recognise you at all. You watched Dr. Torres as she snapped the little girls arm back into place, it was mesmerising it amazed you. Torres noticed something wrong with the leg so she asked you to come over. She asked you if you wanted to snap it into place, of course you said yes but you were a bit scared you would mess it up. She showed you what to do and you did it perfectly she was impressed.
"Great job you would be good in ortho" she said.
You were so happy she was impressed because you had already let Arizona down so you were glad you made Torres happy. Hopefully she would tell Robbins about it as they were married.
Dr. Torres looked at you right in the eye and asked if she knew you. Your heart dropped, you just said you don't think so and hoped she wouldn't suspect anything. You didn't want to say anything as you didn't have enough information to prove it, you wanted to find out if she even had a missing daughter. She walked away as she was done with the little girl and went back to her patients You felt your heart rate go back down to a normal speed and you went back to Dr. Matthews to finish with the rollercoaster kids.

After Arizona's surgery she came over to you and you thought she was going to start shouting at you but instead told you that the patient was fine and that it wasn't your fault. The patient already had a piece of the rollercoaster piercing through their stomach so it would've happened no matter who took them out. You felt relieved that it wasn't your fault and also that the patient was okay. After your shift you and all the other interns went to Joes for a drink to celebrate your first 48 hours as interns. It actually went a lot better than expected so you couldn't wait for your next shift. You finally felt like you belonged somewhere, you always felt like an outsider at home because you were always a lot more out there than the rest of your family. When you in the hospital you feel like your meant to be there. You feel unstoppable..
