My identity was 'adapted' for when I'm at school to make sure that I'm safe; I have my biological mothers last name, which is quite comforting to me because I hardly get to see her. Some people really don't like the Avengers and if they found out I'm the child of two of them, problems could arise. On the other hand, if the people who do like the Avengers found out then they could start obsessing and never leave me alone or go to extreme measures to be noticed by them. Anything's possible. Everyone's crazy.
Only a few people at school know who I really am: Peter Parker, Ned Leeds, Michelle Jones, the principal, and accidentally, Liz Allen. I like it that way, I don't have to lie to my best friends and I can talk about weird Avengers things to people who aren't the Avengers (aside from Peter of course).
MJ and I got really close after she figured out who I was. She's so smart, it's amazing! She's good company too. She doesn't mind silences when I can't be bothered talking, or don't have the energy because my social battery has run out; she lets me talk - well it's more rant, sometimes shout - to her whenever someone has annoyed me; she lets me lay all over her and use her like a pillow; she reads to me whenever I can't be bothered to, or if I ask her too. She will always be my person, my MJ, and I will hurt anyone who hurts her. She's my platonic soulmate. She has my heart, forever.

Signalling the end of another day in hell, the bell rang loudly. I shoved all of my things into my bag and stood up to stretch my legs. MJ let out a happy sigh and I turned and smiled. I walked over to her desk and waited for her to finish putting all her things in her bag and then we walked out of the classroom.
We made our way towards Peter's locker in a comfortable silence and avoided eye contact with other people. We turned into the corridor where Peter's locker was and saw him and Ned were already there. They were babbling excitedly, probably about Star Wars, making MJ and I gave each other an amused look.
Once we reached the boys she asked quietly, "Do you have to go straight to the compound?"
"Yes, sorry. There's a weird meeting thing that my Dads are at so Nat's picking Peter and I up. We really shouldn't keep her waiting too long." I replied.
Peter's face lit up. "Wait, Nat's picking us up?"
Ned noticed Peter's reaction and joked, "Do you love her or something?"
"What? No!" He lowered his voice to barley a whisper, "she lets us get ice cream on the way to the compound."
MJ did a light chuckle, "That is adorable."
Peter went bright red and muttered, "let's go y/n, don't want to make Nat sit out there too long."
"Okay, let's go. See you tomorrow, guys." Peter and I waved by to them as we turned to exit to the school.

Peter and I are a part of the Stark Internship, or so we tell people, which gives us an excuse for why we sometimes miss school (usually because Peter has to help fight and I have to sit in a random safe house because no one lets me have any fun) and why Happy sometimes picks us up, or if anyone notices if any of the Avengers do. No one really asks questions though because everyone just wants to get home and no one really pays any attention to us, which is perfect. We usually get picked up away from the school as a safety precaution but whenever Tony feels like being extra, and make me want to slam my head against a table, he pulls up in his latest and fanciest car, making everyone rush to the windows as he struts inside like he owns the place. So embarrassing. Honestly I'm surprised people don't swarm us in the hallways to ask us questions or something.
