Chapter 5 - Breakfast with a difference
I awoke to a strangeness in the air that I couldn't place. It was exotic, soothing and I only wanted more. I somehow felt more secure and loved as I lie there slowly waking up.
I wiggled a little, instantly realising my problem, someone was in my bed with me. I quickly opened my eyes to see Ty sleeping soundly next to me. I stared at him in shock as my body froze. Why was Ty in my room?
My stomach grumbled and the aching hunger I felt made me want to fold my body in half. Why was I so freaking hungry? Everything just had a bizarre edge to it this morning that I wasn't sure I wanted to face.
Still my eyes etched Ty's sleeping face into my mind. He looked perfect. The angle of his jaw and nose was softened by those lips that kept my fascination. Long, thick eyelashes that I had never noticed before surrounded those eyes that I avoided looking at.
It was nice to be able to watch him without having to dodge his eyes. His lips caught my attention again as did the smoothness of his cheeks. I wanted to touch his lips with mine, run my fingers over his cheek that should have stubble but didn't.
The need to find out what he wanted in a kiss brought me closer to him. I drew back from him when it finally dawned on me that I had no idea why Ty was here in my room and my bed.
"Ty." I said his name softly and his face curled into an irresistible smile.
"Jilly." He whispered sleepily and I have to admit that made made my stomach flutter. He woke up saying my name, making me feel special and wanted.
"Ty, you need to wake up."
"Stop it Terrilian, don't tease." He went to roll over, right into me.
"Ty, it's Jilly, wake up." I made my voice a little firmer even though I could have just watched him sleep forever. His gorgeous grey eyes blinked open.
"Jilly?" He said my name with this husky voice that was utterly arousing all on its own.
"Yes. What are you doing in my bed?" The words shrieked out of me as I tried desperately not to be distracted by him.
"Maybe you're in my bed Jilly." His voice vibrated deliciously across my nerve endings.
"The walls are purple Ty." I tried to pull away from him but his arms tightened around me. "Why are you here?" I repeated my earlier question.
He went quiet and thoughtful before glancing around my room. His eyes fell on my desk and his mind seemed to clear with recognition. He let go of me so fast that I felt rather rejected.
"I'm sorry Ishxan, it was never my intention." He raised his hands away from me now. As usual with him, I was now back to being confused.
"Please tell me what's going on."
I sat up and looked down at myself to see that I was still wearing my clothes from yesterday. Why didn't I remember anything? A flashback filled my mind of Ty with his fingers around my wrist. The proof! He had been trying to prove to me that he was an alien.
"What's the last thing that you can recall?" He asked gently.
"The uh thing at your house." I stammered out, wishing the blush away.
"I came over here that night when your light was still on. You were writing like crazy Jillybean. I've sat with you for the last two days when you've done nothing but write. You wouldn't even stop for sustenance." He told me, now looking quite worried.
"I am pretty hungry." I admitted as his words sank into my mind. "Wait a minute! You say I've been writing for two days straight?" I asked in astonishment.
"Yes Jilly, neither Terrilian nor I could prevent your movements. Would you like me to make your something to eat while you shower?" He threw the words out there and I frowned. I still hadn't figured out why he was in my bed but the intense hunger was making itself known.
"Okay, then you can explain how you ended up here." I gestured to my bed before pushing out of it.
He grabbed my hand and pulled, causing me to fall back against him. I sent him a grumpy look and was lost in an electric grey force of his eyes. His grin lit up his face, making me sigh dreamily.
"I wound up here Jillybean, when I couldn't resist your tempting body that clamoured for my attention." He told me with this mischievous look that made him far too adorable.
"Ugh what did I do?" I muttered to myself, recalling how I threw myself at him with the whole taking my life force dilemma.
"I'm kidding Jilly. We were both exhausted. You from writing and me from trying to stop you from writing."
He pulled me closer to him, curling a hand into my hair and one around my waist. I was utterly speechless then as my body responded to his closeness.
"I think I want that kiss you owe me." His thrilling words had me tilting my head, encouraging his endeavours.
"What am I doing?" I murmured as I quickly pulled my gaze from his and tried to recover my equilibrium.
"C'mon Jillybean, you know you want to." He coaxed, his hand sliding around to my back and stroking languidly.
"No...this is no."
I pulled away from his tempting embrace and stood up. I should have never glanced back at his disappointed face that made my resolve completely cave. I closed my eyes and decided to give him an ultimatum.
"Tell me why you call me that dumb name and I might consider that I owe you." I had to clear my throat to say the words. I felt absurdly brave and stupid all at the same time.
"That's what you want in exchange for a kiss?" Ty asked with incredulous disbelief and I forced myself to nod. "You shouldn't make it so easy for me Jillybean." He shook his head, a wry smile on his face.
"Easy? That's easy?" The words stuttered out of me.
"Oh yeah. I'm about to get my reward so place that cute little booty of yours down here." He patted the bed confidently, which made me step back.
"No I'm uh going for a shower, yep that's what I'm doing."
I retreated until my back was against the bathroom door. Why was I chickening out? This had been my stupid idea to begin with. I chose to blame the fact that I hadn't brushed my teeth for two days so my breath would be horrendous.
I didn't want to face the truth that I was scared. I didn't want to be a disappointment to him when he kissed me. The last thing I wanted to do was stammer and giggle like I did though the last kiss I had. The guy had sent me the oddest look before leaving me at my front door without so much as a goodbye.
"You can't avoid me forever Jillybean." Ty's delicious voice wafted through the bathroom door as I quickly closed it on him. "I shall make you some breakfast then."
I heard him walk from the room and I let out a breath. He was so damn potent when he wanted something. One little kiss was all he was asking of me and it was freaking me out to comply.
I rushed back into my bedroom to grab some clothes before ducking into the shower to think things through. Admittedly, I liked waking up next to Ty. Sure it had been shocking and unexpected but it also comforted me in a way that I couldn't explain.
I was out of the shower the very moment that I detected the waft of raisin toast on the air. My stomach was growling, grumbling and clenching uncomfortably by the time I was dressed. I really needed to eat.
I rushed down to the kitchen to find Ty manning the toaster. He seemed to fit right into this culinary look. Then I was reminded that he couldn't eat anything that he was making and that made my curiosity start to fly.
"Does that smell weird to you?" I asked as I leaned against the bench.
I snatched up a perfectly browned and buttered piece of raisin toast. I stuffed it into my mouth rather inelegantly but I was way took hungry to care. I looked to Ty only to see a fond smile on his face pointed directly at me.
"Yes and no. It is definitely not something we have on my planet. The aroma reminds me of you actually. You have always been a fan of this bread." He patted the packet of raisin toast.
"I can't imagine not eating. That seems so odd." I muttered around another mouthful.
"You humans are rather interesting from what we see too. I have watched the many changes yet also the similarities that have happened over the years." Ty mused as the toaster popped, releasing more delicious toast.
"How long have you been here Ty?" I asked, rather keen to find out more of his story.
"Are you sure you want to know Jilly? You may not like the answer." He warned me.
"I want to know." I insisted and he sighed.
"We came here to see Halley's comet in the year you called nineteen ten." He told me and I spluttered out toast crumbs in my shock. "I think our calculations were off though and that we were meant to be here for its return in the nineteen eighty six time frame. It doesn't matter now of course." He spoke as though this was a normal occurrence while I tried to swallow around a very dry throat.
"That's unexpected." I managed to mutter but he continued on regardless.
"We were supposed to return home straight away but my grandparents lost our ship. Though I'm starting to now think that it was quite deliberate." He finished as he calmly buttered more bread and placed it on my plate.
"Deliberate?" I asked when I could manage to speak.
"I hope that's not the only thing you just understood from what I said." He chided me a little as he steered me to the dining table to sit.
"No I'm just trying to get my head around it all." I said as he placed a glass of juice next to me.
"So it doesn't bother you to know that I have been here for more than one hundred years?" He asked, cocking a brow at me.
I gulped in a breath, tried with difficulty to swallow my mouthful of now tasteless bread and tried to appear calm. I stared hard at Ty, trying to see if he was joking but I knew he wasn't. I deliberately looked into his eyes finding their mesmerising presence rather soothing this time.
"It's...okay it's a tad disturbing." I admitted, not wanting to lie to him.
"Can you live with it though? Realise that it is the truth?" His voice dropped to a whisper as though he was afraid of my answer.
"Ty, you're an alien from a planet known as Xyllenion and you're looking for your ship to take you home." I told him in my most assured voice. Boy was I surprised to see his mouth flop open.
"You believe me." The astonishment in his voice made a giggle escape me.
"Yes I believe you. I even believe that you have been here for more than one hundred years and that you need human life force to survive." I told him calmly, though I had no idea where these thoughts were coming from. "I have a lot of questions though."
"I can answer anything you ask." He did that strange bowing thing.
"Okay two things that I need answered first, but I'll start with bowing. Why do your bow at me? You know that's not normal. Then answer my earlier question about why you think you were deliberately stranded here." I waved my piece of toast at him dramatically and his lips tugged upwards.
"Respect."
"Huh?"
"The bowing is something we do as a sign of utter reverence. It shows respect, honour and appreciation of the highest regard." Ty finished with another bow.
"Then why the heck are you doing it to me?" I asked puzzled by this craziness. His smile then was spectacular, ripping my breath from my lungs.
"You are worthy of admiration for being both our Saviour and my Mamishxan." He said softly.
"Ty, how can I be your life partner when I come from a different planet?" I winced and closed my eyes, not wanting to acknowledge his answer.
"I have no clue, but you are." He reached over and squeezed my hand.
"What if you're wrong Ty? You're Mamishxan could be waiting for you at home." I continued on this topic though I didn't want to. I ripped off a crust and tossed it aside, wondering why I was questioning him this way.
"Jillybean, look at me." He never raised his voice above a whisper but it was like a command to me. I let my gaze lift to meet his adoring grey eyes.
"This will answer your previous question and explain to you why you're definitely my Mamishxan."
"Okay." I replied shakily.
He didn't answer right away. Instead he gathered my plate and glass which he placed in the sink. He wiped the bench where he had made a mess before he turned and offered me his hand.
I bit my lip but let him take my hand. He pulled me up and led me out into the lounge room. He sat down and patted his lap for me to join him but I hesitated. He sent me a cheeky smirk as he yanked on my hand so I collapsed on top of him in an ungraceful heap.
"Ty!" I complained while he just chuckled and positioned me on his lap the way he wanted.
"I liked it the other day when you were climbing all over me." He told me as he licked his lips making me utterly spell bound.
"That wasn't me!" I slapped a hand against his arm. "That was whatever you did. That was the illusion, wasn't it?" I accused him but he only seemed more amused by my tirade.
"Oh no my little Jillybean, that was all you." His voice dropped to this low thrum that doubled my heart rate. "I didn't have to create an illusion. That is one of the reasons that screams out that you are my Mamishxan."
"What sexual attraction?" I blurted out the words and he skimmed a finger down my cheek with my blush.
"Xyllenion people don't have sexual attraction in the same way that you do. Well I guess I should mention that we don't have sex at all." He told me and I'm sure my jaw dropped open.
"So what's the connection then? How do you know I'm your Mamishxan? I mean do you guys even kiss?" I threw out a bunch of questions that I wanted to get answers for. Ty simply smiled this amused little smirk that was as annoying as it was darn cute.
"Well I should start with the mechanics first. Now I want you to note that I was thinking about dropping my pants to prove I'm an alien but I thought that might be a bit extreme for you."
"What?" I spluttered out.
"I don't have a penis." Ty stated and I swear my blush went five shades darker. Not only that but I now had a hundred more questions. "Wait and listen." He raised a finger to me. "Instead of the way sex is flaunted here, we have Melding."
"But how do you get rid of the waste?" I shoved my question out there, now wondering how his body worked.
"We don't eat remember. What we expel in our breath is what you would see as the waste product. On our planet, those gases, mostly oxygen," At that he rolled his eyes. "Sustain the rest of the planet's inhabitants."
"So you breathe out mostly oxygen...so how then does your planet produce enough Xenon for you to breathe?" I asked both curious and glad to be off the previous topic.
"The other inhabitants, what you would deem flora and fauna, they have a waste that releases Xenon back into the atmosphere." Ty waved a hand and I went to ask another question. I was prevented by his finger against my lips. "Let me answer."
"But..."
"Jillybean, you asked me a question and I would like to answer." He said rubbing his rather rough finger against my lips and driving me quite mindless with the sensations engulfing me.
"To your earlier question about being stranded here. I believe my family made up the reason for coming here. I believe they made it up for me. My grandmother somehow knew about you. I'm sure they meant to arrive for the nineteen eighty six sighting but left too early. The were quite willing to wait the hundred years until you arrived.
"I knew from the second of first seeing that pretty face of yours that you were my Mamishxan. We have very specific ways to know who our Mamishxan is. The first one is a bell ringing through our mind. I had that the instant I saw you, even though you were only a child.
"I started calling you Jillybean after one of our babysitting trips to your house. You wanted a jelly bean so I opened up that big dish your parents kept treats in, for you to pick one. You stared into the dish with a look of wonder in your eyes. You then said 'Jilly wants this bean', you giggled at yourself and your name was set. You were my little Jillybean." He finished the story with that happy little hum that I liked so much.
"I see." I said rather shakily.
I was both startled and touched with such a delightful manner with what he had told me. Now my nickname made sense and it was the sweetest story. I was now liking that name a whole lot more.
"So ready to pay what you owe me?" He sent me this wicked little grin that had a devastating effect on me.
"You do kiss then hey?" I let out a funny little grunt after blurting out those words.
"Yes Jillybean, we certainly do." He waggled a finger at me, trying to draw me closer. Seeing how I was on his lap I didn't think we could get any closer.
"Ah shouldn't we check all the stuff I wrote down?" I threw out as a distraction, feeling rather edgy about what he wanted from me.
"We will. What are you afraid of Jilly?" His words were whispered against my lips.
"You. Me. The fact that I can't kiss." I admitted the truth and Ty looked surprised.
"Really? Let's test this theory of yours."
He didn't allow me to protest any further. His lips came down on mine, soft, delicate and so full of heat. He moved back to look me in the eye and those grey depths filled me with longing.
He left another butterfly kiss on my lips, making me lean into him then wanting more and boy did he deliver. The very tip of his tongue touched my lips, burning me up inside with how naughty but delectable that felt.
A gasp escaped me and with a groan, Ty was kissing me with a passion that I had never felt before. His tongue and lips were weapons that swept my mouth and encouraged my tentative movements all in one.
I was on fire, burning up as he cupped a hand around my cheek. His kiss deepened and I leaned into him, tucking my fingers into his hair to tug him closer. He pulled back seeming to have trouble looking anywhere but at my lips.
"Whoever told you that you couldn't kiss was a liar Jilly." That was all he said as he cuddled me closer.
I felt thrilled, elated and wishing that he would kiss me again. That was going down as one of the best moments in my life so far. Who would have thought that I would be kissing Ty Brown?
Then again, that was before I believed that he was an alien from another planet. I could only hope then that he wanted more kisses from me, a girl who wasn't even his species.
