"Are we really off the island or is this a dream?" Sammy asked, walking over to the table with a plate of berries.
"If it were a dream, im thinking we'd have a change of clothes.." yaz
Said.
"Ha! What do you mean? Ive always wanted a signature look.." ben said, making everyone laugh a little.
I see brooklynn go up to kenji and i look at my wounded leg.
I dont know how long i was staring at the bloody bandage but the boats engine cutting snapped me out of my trance.
I grabbed three berries off of the middle plate and ate them before kenji and brooklynn got to the table.
"And now, for the main course, the plumpest and the juiciest...nublar grubs!" Ben said, holding out a plate of grubs, everyone else gagged and grimaced.
"Hand-selected by yours truly.." ben said, picking one up and thanking it before eating it.
"You guys are so wimpy.." i mumbled, grabbing one off the plate and eating it like it was nothing.
"It tastes like beetroot..sweet..earthy.." i said plainly.
"Well, i guess the least i can do is keep an open mind.." sammy said picking one up and attempting to eat it before throwing it away.
I jumped up and caught it with my mask and ate it before chaos ensued.
"How y'all survived we'll never know.." ben said, eating another grub.
"Well ive got a better option that you guys might like.." i said, standing up and limping to the different bags of supplies and looking for my jaguar backpack, its straps got cut off in a fight with a cerato.
"Who wants jerky?" I asked, holding up a big ziplock bag of jerky.
"What kind of jerky?" Yaz asked.
"Why is that important?" I asked.
"I dont know incase its made out of bugs or something" Brooklynn said, earning a nod from yaz.
"Fine if you have to know its parasaurolophus jerky..dont worry it tastes the same as normal beef jerky.." i said.
"How did you manage to even get that?" Darius asked.
"Charli...used to bring her kills to me..i would cook and eat some to make her happy and i ended up having to do it because all the food in the caravan spoiled.." i said, looking down at the bag.
"Please atleast try it? Itll make me happy.." i said setting the bag down on the table.
Ben was the first to try it and he liked it, the others liked it aswell and i was super happy.
"Okay..no tears or goodbyes until we're sittin' on the plane, but can i just say, look at us..we started as campers, and now, we're-" sammy's little speech was cut off.
"Immortal.." me and ben said at the same time.
"Survivors?" Brooklynn said.
