Chapter 39: Vegas.
"Vegas baby!!!" Adam yells from his seat.
"Can you just shut the fuck up?" Riley tells him.
We're currently in a limo on our way to the casino that Maddison works at. Today is my bachelorette party. Well, sort of. The only difference between my bachelorette party and a typical bachelorette party is that in my party boys are allowed. I realized that I couldn't have the run off the mill bachelorette party because I didn't know many girls and two, I wanted to spend my last week 'single' with my friends.
Anna is with my parents and Zachary and his teammates are having a party of their own at Caesar's palace.
Tobias, Riley, Adam and Alicia are currently with me in the limo. Naya was supposed to be here but her flight got delayed. She's going to be here later tonight though.
"You might not know me very well. But I am very loud." Adam tells Riley and she sucks her teeth at him.
Adam was right. Riley and Tobias don't know him that well. In fact, I don't even think they've met each other until this moment.
"Alright, Gregory. Calm down and drink your Ciroc." I tell him, rubbing my hands together.
It's very cold in this car.
"We're gonna have the time of our lives." Alicia says beside me, adjusting her strapless dress.
"You can say that again." Tobias says, drinking Don Julio's 1942 straight from the bottle.
Riley smacks him on the arm and collects the bottle from him.
"You can't get drunk because I want to get drunk tonight and one of us has to remember what happened." She says, scolding him.
"Jeez, let the man drink." Adam tells her.
"I wasn't talking to you." Riley retorts and Adam lifts his hands up in fake surrender.
"How do you feel?" Alicia asks me.
"Honestly, I feel the same. Yes, I'm getting married in two days, but I don't really feel different." I tell her.
"I can't wait to see what Astrid has done in the Bahamas. It's going to be beautiful. I just know it." Alicia says and I nod. Astrid also planned Alicia's wedding; that's how they know each other.
I feel the car come to a halt and I grab my purse. The door opens and we troop out of the car. Adam stretches as he gets out after me.
"Okay, I'm just gonna text Maddison to know where she's at." I tell them, bringing my phone out of my purse to text Maddison.
"You're so dumb." I hear Riley say as she talks to Adam.
"Okay, guys. Maddison said she's at the poker table inside. So, let's go." I tell them and we all start walking inside the building.
"Maddy." I squeal. When we get to where she is.
"Valarie, it's so nice to see you again. And you came with your crew. Hi, I'm Maddison, Zachary's sister." She says introducing herself to the people standing behind me.
"Hi, I'm Adam. I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting." Adam says taking Maddy's hand in his before he kisses it.
Everybody else introduces themselves to Maddy after Adam and we head to the bar.
"I wanna play slots, so I have to get very drunk." Riley tells Tobias.
My phone vibrates in my hand. I check it and it's a text from Zachary.
Husband❤️: My party sucks. The guys insisted on strippers. I had to get out of there. I'm currently at the bar. I miss you like crazy.
Me: Hang in there buddy😘.
I place my phone in my purse and I order a Cosmopolitan. The bartender makes the drink as I stand at the bar. Someone taps my shoulder and I turn around. I see Naya smiling at me and I hug her.
"You made it." I say, hugging her.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." Naya says before she pulls away.
"You look amazing." I tell her.
"Not as amazing as you." Naya says and I laugh
"I try." I tell her and she smiles at me.
"Miss, your drink." The bartender says behind me and I turn around and collect the drink.
I hold Naya's hand and I take her to where the crew is.
"Naya!!!" Alicia screams and runs up to us.
She knows her?
Naya gives Alicia a warm hug and I stare at them in confusion.
"You two know each other?" I ask after they stop hugging each other.
"Yeah. She was my classmate in college." Alicia says and I stare at her with wire eyes.
"Yeah, until I dropped out and moved to New York." Naya says and Alicia laughs.
"Yeah, until you did that." Alicia says, chuckling.
"Let's-get-fucked-up!!!" Riley says, yelling.
"You're already drunk, Li. Let's get you to the slot machine." Tobias says, taking Riley to go play some slots.
"The poker table is free right now. So, let's play some poker." Maddison says and I cheer.
"I love that." I tell her, sipping my drink through the black straw.
Alicia and Naya talk to each other as we walk to the poker table.
"Zachary texted me, saying there were strippers at the party." I tell Maddy.
"Ashton probably brought them." Adam replies out of nowhere.
"Where were you?" I ask him and he smiles at me.
"I went scouting. Hunting, if you will." He says as adjust his pants.
"You're just too much for me." Maddison tells him and he gasps.
"I am not. Ask Valarie, she's known me since kindergarten." Adam says pointing at me.
"True that. But you're still a trifling piece of shit though.' I tell him and he holds his chest as we walk.
"I just like playing the roster. So, that when I'm all wrinkly and old. I'll look back on my escapades and know that I left no stone unturned." He says and I smack his arm.
"We're here." Maddison says as we arrive at the poker table.
"Let's get this party started." I yell before I take my seat at the table. I sip my drink until it's finished and then I place the glass on the table.
Naya, Adam and Maddison get seated after me and the worker gives us our chips.

I stare at everyone nervously and I cross my fingers. I show the table my cards and they all gasp.
"Royal flush." The croupier says and I stare at him.
I won.
"Aggghh!!!" I scream before I start doing the happy dance in my seat.
"I won." I say grabbing everybody's chips to my side of the table.
"No." Adam squeals as I go to grab his chips, but that doesn't stop me. I swat his hands away as he tries to cover his chips. The croupier hands me all their money and I smile before I stand up from my seat.
The room is spinning as I stand up and I realize that I had too many shots at that table.
"Whoa, Valarie." Alicia says as she holds me by my side.
"I'm fine, I'm fine." I assure her. As I take another step, I fall face flat on the black carpet.
"I am not fine." I mumble to myself.
