"Do you... do you want to know?"

Jungkook doesn't know what's come over him, but he doesn't dwell on that much longer, lest he backtracks.

The newspaper that he saw on the bench occupies his mind almost always, and he knows that Afriel has noticed the slight nervous energy that Jungkook gave out whenever she talked about random news that she heard of she switches to a news channel on TV.

He should stop being a coward and just say it.

This is important. This is serious. This affects the way she will see him from now on. This might make her hate hi-

"About what happened with you? It's your choice, Jungkook. If it's hard to talk about, I won't pester you. But if you want to, I'm all ears." She is sitting cross legged on the bed, arms coming forward to rest in front of her form, her attention towards Jungkook

Well fuck it.

"What if it's something," Jungkook searches for a word that is not threatening, a word that doesn't immediately paint him as criminal in big red paint, and finally finds it, "something... unusual?

Afriel looks at him, confused, "Is it something really bad?"

Jungkook decides to just get on with it, not knowing any other way to broach the subject.

"If hypothetically speaking, I killed a bad person. Would that make me a bad person as well?"

Afriel's eyes widen for a fraction of a second before she closes them and takes in a deep breath, and opens them. She seemed to be thinking, wondering how to reply to that.

"It... it depends on your definition of what a bad person is. Hypothetically, of course."

Jungkook nods, although he knows Afriel's figured something out. She seemed fidgety all of a sudden, although her voice remained calm. Her next question is what catches him off guard.

"Is this someway related to your... death?"

Jungkook's breath hitched.

Afriel had never, never asked how he had died. It was like a place where neither of them went, never mentioned, during the span of them knowing each other. She always thought of other topics, topics which were never related to his death, when conversing with him. So this question, along with her serious expression, made Jungkook's mind go blank.

"I... what if I say it is?"

"You are going to tell me how you ended up a demon, then."

It came out as a statement, but it seemed more of a question, and Jungkook finds himself nodding.
