My stomach complained loudly and drew me out of my thoughts, thinking about what to do wouldn't bring me anything to eat. I put away the scale in one of the pockets that my pants had. So far I hadn't gotten rid of them, although something told me that I should do it. And then I headed of into the opposite direction from yesterday's walk. It was a bit heavier to walk today, but I blamed the hunger and the large amount of sleep I had gotten. Being here should keep me on the edge, not helping me to become lazy. There was no denying that this was a serious situation, yet it didn't feel so horrible. Could I still be in shock? Or was my mind trying to deny the situation I'm in? I kept walking and thinking so I missed a stone, that was half hidden and fell. It hurt like something inside me broke, and I just wanted to yell until it no longer hurt. But instead, I bite my tongue and got up, the right ankle hurt when I walked. With a quick look at it, it looked like it was sprained but I hoped that I was wrong.
After continuing walking for a bit more, I noticed some bushes with berries and went to them. It was those green and spiky berries, I let out a sigh before picking a few. These was the sour ones, but it would be better to eat what I found than keep moving and possibly hurt myself even more. Before eating them, I closed my eyes and held my breathe. Once the handful of berries was gone, I had to pick more. They weren't tasty, but at the same time not as bad as yesterday. And before I knew it, all the berries on the bushes I had found was gone. It had calmed down my hunger a bit, and I was now ready to continue walking.
