Lara was sat by the window in her usual spot in the cafe. It was drizzling in Barcelona and it was a perfect day for her to pop down to the cafe, order a hot chocolate and snuggle up on the loveseat with a book.

Today, Lara brought Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. Her friend recommended the book to her and she was nearly done with it. She read the pages, her nimble fingers turning the pages quickly.

"Querida!" she heard Maria yell from over the counter. Turning her head, Lara made eye contact with Linda and smiled. "Yeah?" Lara asked. "Where's that nice boy you met up with last week?" Maria asked as she continued mixing in the cookie mix.

Lara looked down at her hands, she hasn't gotten a text or a call from Neymar and she was disappointed. She really hoped she would start a new friendship with him since he seemed so interesting.

(Also, he had her book.)

"I don't know," Lara said, "I haven't heard from him at all." she shrugged. Maria sent her a frown, "It's okay, amor. It's his loss." Maria teased before turning around to pop the batch of cookies into the oven.

Lara chuckled as she listened to Maria softly singing to herself. The drizzling had turned into raining and she wondered how long she'd have to stay in the cafe for until the rain stopped.

She was so focused on the rain outside that she hadn't noticed someone walking into the cafe until she felt a hand on her shoulder. Jumping, Lara whipped around and nearly slapped the stranger with the book in her hands when she saw who it was.

Neymar jumped in shock as Lara held the book protectively in his hands as if she were threatening to hit him with it. "Easy," Neymar chuckled, holding his hands up in surrender. "I didn't mean to scare you."

Lara blushed as she looked at him. Just moments ago she was thinking about how there was no way he'd come back to see her and now here he was, standing in front of her with her book in his hands.

Neymar sat down on the seat beside Lara as they did when they first met. "I finished the book." Neymar breathed out, handing Lara the novel. "Are the last pages missing or something? I need something more! I need closure. Oh god, what happened to Miles? Where did he go next? What happened to The Colonel?" Neymar asked, firing all kinds of questions at Lara.

All Lara could do was stare at him and laugh, "You remind me of Gus after he read An Imperial Affliction." was all she could say. Neymar looked at her strangely, "Huh?"

Lara's eyes lit up, "Oh, I know what you should read next."

Neymar chuckled as he handed Lara the book. "Thanks for ruining my life, John Green." Neymar sighed dramatically. Lara nodded, "I feel you."

Running a hand through his hair, Neymar looked out the window and grimaced. "It's starting to pour." he commented. Lara nodded, her fingers flipping another page of the book she was reading.

They were quiet for a while - Lara reading her book quietly while Neymar sneaked glances at her. He didn't know what he was feeling, he tried not to get too attached as his friends told him not to. He was done with dating for now, but something about Lara just sucked him back in.

After a while, Lara set her book down and just sat there, staring at the wall blankly. "What?" Neymar asked. Lara groaned, "I...finished the book and," she sighed loudly, "The ending killed me!"

Neymar chuckled as he studied her expression. She was pouting, jutting her lower lip out as she breathed in and out slowly. She sighed and the book in her small tote bag before glancing out the window, "Crap, how am I supposed to get home?" she whispered.

Neymar perked up at the sound of her question, "I can drive you." he offered. Lara looked at him shocked, "Um..." she thought about it for a while before shrugging, "Eh, okay. It's better than walking."

"Great, wanna go now?" Neymar asked. Lara nodded and they both stood up, Neymar shooting a grin at Maria and Pedro who were smirking at the two. Just as Lara was about to leave the shop, Maria mouthed 'good luck' to her and all Lara could do was blush and roll her eyes.

Outside, Neymar and Lara were protected by the overhead covering but they'd have to walk in the rain to his car sooner or later. "Come on, we have to go find my car." Neymar said.

Lara didn't bring a jacket or an umbrella, but she knew she'd just have to shelter the top of her head with her tote bag and her books would most likely get ruined, but there was nothing she could do about it now.

Glancing down at her, Neymar smiled softly and pulled off his jacket and placed it over her head gently, "Vem, princesa." Neymar teased before leading her towards his car.

"What are you doing? You need to use this." Lara insisted, taking the jacket off her head to hand it over to Neymar. Shaking his head, Neymar lightly pushed the jacket back towards her. "You're more important. Now, come on!" he said energetically.

Blushing, Lara followed him through the rain, the both of them giggling and laughing like little children. Neymar stopped dead in his tracks in front of an empty space, leaving Lara looking at him weirdly.

"Não! Why today?" Neymar groaned loudly. "What? What happened?" Lara asked, starting to panic as well. Neymar laughed and turned towards Lara, "My car got towed." he grinned sheepishly.

Lara couldn't contain the laughter that poured out of her mouth as she looked up at a beaming Neymar. "Why do you look so proud?" she joked. Neymar shrugged and after an inner battle with himself, he took Lara's hand in his.

"Well, princesinha, are you up for a run through the rain?"
