Danielle had gone over to Stefania's place along with Carlos and Jaina for a casual dinner. Stefania had just brought her puppy Jeff home a few days ago, so it was also to meet baby Jeff. Stefania had cooked some amazing mussels and some pasta and bruschetta. There was light music playing in the background as they sipped on some wine and relaxed.

Jaina was noticing Danielle's every move as she went and grabbed her, pulling her aside so that the other two couldn't hear them.

"D, how long are you planning on living like this? Living a fucking lie?" Danielle didn't know how to answer her question. Every single time Jaina would bring something like this up, it would just end up the same, Jaina giving up and walking away.

Soon Carlos and Jaina had to leave. "Right, I should leave as well, it's getting pretty late." Danielle said while getting up. "Oh. I thought you'd stay more. Jeff seems to like you." Stefania said.

Danielle looked at Stefania and couldn't comprehend what to feel. She didn't know how to respond, she wanted to stay, but she didn't know if she should. It was making her frustrated, to feel so many things, was frustrating.

And then all of a sudden that frustration came out. "Why? Why don't you call your boyfriend to hang out?" She said with a slight attitude. Stefania was left speechless. She didn't understand where that came from. "What is that supposed to mean?" Stefania managed to ask at some point. "Ugh, I'm tired of pretending Stefania. I can't pretend anymore." Danielle said as tears had started to build up in her eyes.

Stefania was still acting confused, she had an idea as to why Danielle was behaving this way but she didn't want to point it out. "So what, you're just gonna look at me like that?" Danielle asked as her frustration rose every minute.
"What do you want me to say? You're the one acting like bitch, for no good reason that too" Stefania said. "Wow." Is all that Danielle said.

There was a moment of silence. Neither of them spoke. They just stood there, pretending to think but they just couldn't think straight.

"Danielle, where is this coming from, I don't-" Stefania couldn't even finish saying what she had to say until Danielle blurted out "because I fucking like you Stef. I have since I first met you at the cafe, and since then every single day, all I've thought about is you. You and your eyes and your smile and ugh." There was a pause. "And you don't seem to give two shits about that, Stef. You don't feel the same way. Im sorry this is all stupid."

Danielle had hardly finished saying what she was to say when Stefania walked towards her and crashed their lips together. Danielle was shocked at first but then slowly reciprocated with the same amount of passion as Stefania.

Their kisses were sloppy, four years worth of sexual tension reflected through them. They slowly moved to the bedroom as they were now on the bed, still passionately kissing each other, until Danielle parted their lips and moved to Stefania's neck and then her chest and then her stomach and eventually the part where she needed her the most.

Stefania was hardly in control, she had soft moans coming out of her mouth which then turned into loud ones as Danielle started licking her wet centre.

They made love for what felt like an eternity. It was like they were making up for the past four years.

They fell asleep in each other's arms peacefully.

Danielle felt the sunlight on her face as she started waking up slowly, her eyes were still closed, but all of what had happened last night came back to her, and it just made her smile. She placed her hand to hold Stefania but was met with an empty bed. She opened her eyes and Stefania was nowhere to be found. She though that Stefania must had gone to the kitchen to make coffee or something. She grabbed her phone sleepily and was met with an unpleasant text from Stefania.

Stef: Hey. You must be awake if you're reading this. I had to run into work and I have a busy day so I'll be back pretty late. Don't take this the wrong way, last night was fun, but you're my best friend and I have some stuff to figure out. Give me some time so I can think about this. I'll get back to you soon. Take care of yourself until then.

Until when? Was all that Danielle could think about. She felt like she had messed up. She had ruined everything. She had ruined the best friendship she ever had. She had lost her favourite person ever.

Present day

Danielle was driving back to her apartment after a long day of meetings yet she had a smile plastered on her face knowing that a certain brunette was waiting for her at her apartment.

As she made it back, she opened the front door to find an apartment with dimmed lights, rose petals and some italian music playing in the background. As she approached the kitchen, she saw two glasses and a bottle of red wine.

"Stefania! Am I in the right apartment?" She asked as she smiled looking around at how romantic it all seemed.

"Sorpresa" Stefania said as she walked and hugged Danielle from behind, kissing her cheek.

"What is all this babe?" Danielle asked, pleasantly surprised at the effort. "I thought we deserved a little date sort of a thing." Stefania answered.

Danielle turned around, now holding Stefania's waist. "This is amazing." She barely managed to whisper as placed a soft kiss on Stefania's lips.

Danielle quickly changed, the fastest she probably ever did, so she could join Stefania as soon as possible. As she walked back into the living room, she saw Stefania patiently setting the tables as she prepared for dinner. Danielle just looked at her and smiled.

They greeted each other again and had dinner in a comfortable silence.

"Okay, if I'm being very honest, there's a reason for all this." Stefania admitted while sipping on her wine. "Oh?" Danielle asked.

"Danielle, I- I wanna apologise to you. For being an ass. For running away from you. For running away from us."

"No stef, you don't have-"

"No please let me finish. I am genuinely sorry. I was running away from this because I didn't know what I wanted. I knew I liked you as well. Hell I fucking love you, and that was just too scary. But I got my shit together, for you. You give me hope, Danielle. Something I never had growing up. You give me so much hope. You make me feel things that I never thought I was capable of feeling. I've always believed that love is the fucking engine that runs the world, and you, you make those words come true. I'm sorry for making us both all emotional with this, but this had to be done. I don't want to do anything with you, I want everything. I want a life, a future and that could only be possible if you agree on being my girlfriend-"

"YES." Danielle said as she crashed their lips together. Their kisses were sloppy at this point. They soon parted their lips as Danielle said again "yes. Yes. Yes." Stefania just smiled knowing this was the beginning of something beautiful. So hauntingly beautiful.

"Oh. And I love you too."
