Chapter -9

'Time skip of a month'
   Cassandra learned how to control her magic with the help of Yennefer but still couldn't control her curse. Jaskier and Geralt traveled all across the nation their were in but no sign of the girl.Jaskier gave up,he said it's useless to keep searching but Geralt insisted.
"Why you do want to find her so much? You've only known her for at least two months!" Jaskier said looking at the Witcher on the horse. "I want to help her that's all.Her father saved me from death once,and I've never been able to also help him in someway. But with Cassandra I can help with,by helping her." Jaskier looked down and felt like pulling his hair out that he lost the only good friend he had.

  After spending time alone in the tower while Yennefer was at some witches meeting, Cassandra was worried about what happened to Jaskier,she haven't seen her since she left him at the Tavern back in Posada. She heard the door open and turned her eyes towards the noise "Nilfgaard will attack us.We need your help." Yennefer said looking at the girl with a blank expression "Why would you want MY help?" "..your magic.Its very powerful,you could help us very much".

  After every witch and soldier prepared for the battle, they all went to their places.Yennefer was on top of an archer tower,she would lead the other witches in case of any attacks.Cassandra stood at the front gates, prepared for what'll come once they attack. A voice was heard in Cassandra's head,it was Yennefer's "They're coming.Don't shoot until I say to" the plan was when they came from the forest,the archers to shoot an rain of arrows and to throw many filling little glass bottles with explosive, magic-infused blue rocks.

  "Not yet..not yet..just a little longer.." Yennefer said from her tower,yet her voice was in every mage's head. "And..NOW!"Yennefer yelled as they started shooting arrows into the forest and throwing the magic infused bottles. Triss,one of the Aretuza witches casted a spell over the forest,at the nilfgarian's soldiers feet grew mushrooms that their scent make the soldier's choke and pass out. That only took out a patch of soldiers,the next one was killed by the rain of shoots and magic infused bottles. The nilfgarian's soldiers made their way towards the front gates "Cassandra! They're coming!"Yennefer said and before she could turn around,Sabrina her only friend she had back in Aretuza,stabbed her with an arrow "I'm sorry Yen."she said as the spell on her faded and she fell off the tower,dying at the impact with the ground.

  Cassandra tried not to panic seeing the soldiers make their way closer to the gates,she exhaled and slowly raised her arms,casting a spell in the old language under her breath as she concentrated,an ice wall became on forming in between the gates and the soldiers,creating a barrier so they could not get pass. She kept on using her magic not noticing her curse activated,the ice wall was now taller then the archer's towers and larger then the castle. The soldiers attacked the wall,the ice not breaking,Cassandra kept on casting the spell in the old language repeatably until she was screaming the spell. The wall started to form holes as on the other side many sharp huge icicles formed,and they all shoot at the soldiers once Cassandra yelled the spell again. The sharp huge icicles stabbed the nilfgaard soldiers leaving all of them on the ground.Dead. 

  Once the enemy soldiers were dead,she hurried to search for Yennefer since she wasn't answering Cassandra's many calls.But Yennefer went to search for Tissaia in the woods,sensing that she also wasn't. She saw a blood strain coming from the tower's stairs to the forest,she touched the blood and the imagine of Sabrina stabbing Yennefer came into her mind. She took a random horse she found and ran to the forest "Yennefer!Yennefer!Please answer! Yennefer!"the black haired girl kept on yelling,she got deeper into the forest and heard another voice yelling Yennefer's name. She recognized the voice right away,it was Geralt's. Yennefer had met Geralt on one of her missions,but she never told Cassandra about him.The Witcher fell in love with the witch of Vengerberg.

  Geralt quickly ran towards Cassandra's voice,as his horse ran after him. The white haired man looked worried at the girl's face before she looked behind the Witcher,she couldn't even say anything before she was lifted off the ground by a brunette man.She hugged him back tightly as he placed her down back on the ground, Cassandra took his face in her hands and stared into his eyes while smiling "your hair grew.." his hair intact grew,it was now long to his mouth,and he also grew buffer.

   Geralt yelled Yennefer's name leaving the scene as now Cassandra was there to protect Jaskier in any case and the little girl that was on top of Cassandra's horse. The black haired girl looked at the girl on her horse and smiled reaching a hand towards her "Hello, I'm Cassandra." The blonde haired girl looked at her and smiled a little "I'm Cirilla..You can call me Ciri, I'm sorry I'm standing on your horse,Geralt said to don't get off." "Don't worry,my horse likes kids.Ciri..Are you.. Geralt's law of suprise child?"

   After Ciri told her the whole story she sighed and wondered if she could tell the girl about her curse. "And..I have a special power..If I scream I can break stones in half.I think it's a curse passed from my mother." Cassandra looked at the girl and smiled "if it makes you feel better,I also have a curse,but my mother gave it to me, whenever I'm mad.. I'll turn into a monster." she took off her gloves revealing the scars on her hands and Ciri looked with a sad expression at her "I don't think your a monster..".
