Chapter-10

The next day they were already leaving for Kaen northern, Geralt gave up thinking Yennefer was dead after searching for her the entire night with the help of Cassandra and Jaskier. They were riding on their horses,Geralt and Cassandra's on theirs and Jaskier with Ciri on another horse they took. Geralt also had to go with Ciri to Kaen northern to teach her about the witcher's training,she was the witcher's destiny/law of suprise child,he saved her father before and he was granted the law of suprise by the queen.

  The whole day they did not stop until at night,they camped into a forest next to a river.Cassandra sat on the ground resting her back against a tree and staring at the sky. Geralt lighted up a fire and Ciri was staying next to him while Jaskier was sitting next to Cassandra. "I'm going to get some water from the river,I'll be back." the black haired girl said as she stood up grabbing the wooden flask and heading towards the river.The water was clear and cold,she gently placed the flask above the water to get just that clean water. She closed the flask's lid and turned around,seeing Jaskier behind her "What's up?"she asked him as she lowered the flask in her hands.

  "You know there's something I've wanted to tell you for a long time..but-" a rustle was heard in the bushes and Cassandra took out her sword "Sorry Jaskier!You can tell me later!" The boy smiled and had a sad expression on his face,the girl's sword hit the teeth of a ghoul,it was probably lost by it's group.The lake was a little far from their camp so it wasn't a problem by a single ghoul to appear. Jaskier jumped back and Cassandra lifted her sword slicing the ghoul's head off,its blood scattered on the girl's face.She wiped it off using her glove and looked back at the bard while placing her sword back into it's place.

  The boy looked puzzled as Cassandra raised a brow at him "What was that you wanted to tell me about?" "I-..You know what.. nevermind I'll just head back to the camp now."before he could start walking away Cassandra grabbed his arm making him turn around and stare at her "Tell me.You'll just make me mad if you don't." He stared at her and bit his bottom lip in stress.

   He grabbed Cassandra's hands and stared at them as he began on speaking "I've known you since you came into that tavern,all the nights we spend together at the bar,all the fights I had to get you out of,the night on the cliff when you told me about your curse..all those memories with you,all those happy moments we spend together..All because I met you.Before I knew you I was afraid to sing in public,too afraid to even speak a speech in front of everyone..But your smile always gave me confidence.You're the most beautiful girl I've met,you are strong.. brave..funny..And I've wanted to tell you this since the beginning..Cass..I love you.I understand if you don't,I wouldn't expect you to-" he was interrupted by Cassandra's lips on his.The girl wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him while his eyes widened as he realised what she did. He calmed down and wrapped his hands around her waist and deepen the kiss, Cassandra ran her hand thought his long brown hair.She pulled away smirking when she saw his red flustered face,she was blushing as well but he was red as a tomato. He was left in shock,not even moving.The black haired girl kissed his cheek and patted his shoulder before heading back to the camp,she was now no longer blushing turning into her serious expression.

  "That took a while." Geralt said as he pushed a branch into the fire with Ciri sleeping next to him wrapped in her cape. "I had to kill a ghoul,it was lost from it's group probably." She said pointing at her blood stained clothes.  After a while Jaskier also came back to the camp,his face was still a bit red. He looked at the girl as she smirked and he turned his head away,not wanting to turn red again from the memories. 

  The next day they started to go on their way,Jaskier didn't say a word since what happened by the river. They were now on open field,with white mountains far away in the distance "Is that supposed to be Kaen northern?" Cassandra asked looking at Geralt "No, it's behind those mountains." He said as he caught up with Cassandra's horse.

   They did not hury while walking in the snow covered field yet a pack of wolves jumped at the horse's feet,making them scared, Geralt's stood steady on it's feet,moving back away from the wolves while Cassandra's jumped on its back feet sending the girl flying into the snow bellow. She quickly stood up from the snow and got back on her horse,sending a wave of hot magic in front of the wolves,making sure not to hurt them. The wolves backed away at the boiling magic and each ran in different directions.
