The heat radiating from the roaring flames was nearly enough to melt her very face off, she thought, her eyes widening with shock.

She had simply been taking a walk through a forest, when she caught sight of smoke rising in the air, high above the trees. Too curious for her own good, she had headed over, to see what was the cause of it.

It turns out the cause was a massive wildfire.

She let out a raspy shriek, and began to run the other way, before noticing a colossal tree falling down. She screamed once more, leaping out of the way.

Almost immediately upon falling, it caught fire, and her heart began to pound with the force of two thousand suns inside her chest.

She frantically looked around at her burning surroundings, trying to find an escape. Her deep blue eyes met with a path unshrouded by flames. She ran there desperately, coughing from the smoke.

As she ran, the heat rising in her body, she felt as if the entire world was burning, but determined to make it out alive, she continued on. Even after her lungs began to burn from both the running and the smoke from this raging inferno, she continued on. Her fiery passion for life was unmatched, and she would not be snuffed out.

"God...damn it!" She cried, then choking. She pulled her clothing up to cover her mouth, and she persistently kept going. "Just a little farther!"

But as she saw yet another burning tree fall, her life flashed before her very eyes.

"No!"

She let out a fierce yell, and threw herself out of the way with as much force as was possible. She skidded on the ground, scratching her face a tad, and frantically looked up, then feeling the force of the tree hitting the ground with a mighty thud.

She yelled, being knocked back a few inches, and burning embers flew at her, causing her to yell once more, this time in pain. Her skin grew inflamed, and she frantically swatted them off, letting out a sharp growl through gritted teeth.

The heat in the air grew heavy, and she looked around once more, but to her horror, she was trapped. There was no escape.

"No! Hey! No!"

She ran around, hoping the exit was perhaps only hidden, but the heat of the situation was so intense that it brought her harshly to the ash-covered ground.

"No..." She gasped, then making a sound, a mixture of a groan and a whimper. "I...don't want to die..!"

She got up quickly, seeing the world grow red with the blood of angels. Embers flew all around, and her lungs filled up with smoke, making her lightheaded and causing her to violently cough.

She tilted her head to the sky and let loose a fiery scream, loud, and filled with anger at her lack of control in this situation, fear of death, and sorrow that she could not have lived her life to the fullest.

Her vision grew blurry from the energy it took to produce such a scream, and from the impact of the heat taking its toll. Dizzy, she fell once more, fearing it was the last time. She tried her best to get back up, but found herself too weak.

Her eyes still open, she noticed an odd, hooded figure emerge from the roaring flames. She gasped in disbelief at how they could do that, then got a lungful of smoke and began to cough once more.

They floated over towards her, gazing at her with their glowing eyes, that had a hint of gold. She gazed back at them, her blue ones filling with desperation.

"H-How..."

They raised their arms, which were covered by sleeves that were a tad too long, up towards the sky, and began to chant almost incoherently, yet she could make out a bit of what they said.
