*Daya's POV*

My eyes crawled over my phone's touch screen. People have been following me on Twitter nonstop since 1AM. I've been up since one because I didn't want to sleep my sadness away. It never worked for me anyways.

Whenever she was sad, she use to fall asleep and wake up with a major headache, but she told me it was worth it. Well, in my opinion, it wasn't worth it. I hate pain. Silent dings kept popping up on the screen as I texted her number.

~People have been following me like crazy! It's all because of Cal introducing me to the fans. I wish you were here so he could introduce you and you can be Cal's official girlfriend. I miss you so much. I don't want to forget about you; I can't even say your name. We miss you and I love you. Stay safe and kick some ass in your Paradise! xo

I sent the message and sighed once the words, "Phone you have messaged is disabled."

~Just wanted to know why some people would hate on someone who just lost their loved one?

I shook my head and then tweeted something nicer.

~Thanks for the follows and all the sweet messages, y'all! xo I appreciate everyone who supports me :)

I sent it out and turned my phone on silent, locking the screen. Complete darkness surrounded me and I heaved a sigh, choking back tears.

Why did this have to happen God? I don't understand! What does this mean?

My insecurities and worries came rushing in like tidal waves.

The 5sos family probably hate me because I was just a fan and I became friends with the boys. They probably think that her dying was a media stunt. -No, the family is great. They're nice an-

A knock exploded the thoughts and they all ran away. I sat up and the door slowly opened.

"What the ducking fuck! Go away!" I yelped, pulling the covers over my head.

"Hey, hey, chill! It's just me," Luke chuckled, sauntering over to my bed.

"What the hell, man?! Are you trying to scare the shit out of me?!" I yell and pout.

"Keep your voice down! You'll wake my mum."

"Why are you awake at this time of night?" I folded my arms and wiggled in my seat.

"I could ask you the same thing," The boy smirked.

"I asked you first! Are you creeping on me?"

"No," He laughed and then changed his voice to deeply concerned almost immediately, "I saw your tweet. I'm worried, Day."

I sigh, "Why should you be? I was thanking y'all's fans for not all hating on me."

"I'm sorry about them. The ones that are hating are just jealous thirteen year olds. You're like 19, Day! You shouldn't care about what they say."

"I can't help it if I'm insecure. I'm just angry that they would be mean to someone who has lost their closest friend. It just pisses me off, I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry, alright? Why don't you go back to sleep? Do you need Melatonin?"

"No thanks, Lukey. I don't wanna go back to sleep anyways."

"Why not?"

"I don't like going to sleep sad. She used to go to sleep sad and wake up sad. I don't wanna be sad."

"You don't have to be. Make yourself happy."

"It's hard to be happy. "

"We can try to be happy together."

"Okay, let's start later, Lucas. You can go back to sleep now."

"Nah, I'm gonna stay here with you until you fall asleep. If that's alright with you?"

"Really? I don't want to bother you."

The boy grinned, shaking his head. He pulled the covers up and slid under the covers, laying down next to me.

"If this gets awkward, let me know." He whispered into the dark.

I giggled and Luke wrapped his arm behind my head, signaling me to snuggle into his side. He begins humming, She Looks So Perfect and many of their other songs.

I woke up to an empty space. It was colder now and I could smell bacon and pancakes. I groggily sat up and saw a note on the nightstand.

~Making breakfast, come see me :)

I smiled and quickly used the bathroom then heading to the kitchen.

"It smells good in here," my bare feet lightly padder the floor and Luke beams when he sees me appear.

"I know; I'm a great cook! Mum went off to work so we have the whole flat to ourselves till sixteen o'clock!" He perked.

"Sixteen o'clock?"

"I forgot, sorry! It's four, I think?"

I counted the numbers on my fingers and nodded. I'll have to get use to that.

"Anyways, eat up! We're going shopping for a bathing suit for us."

"Why?"

"I'm teaching you how to surf today, if you don't mind."

"We wanted to learn together and have hot guys teach us," Instant sorrow hit my face.

"Well, part of that's gonna happen! You'll learn for her, Day!"

I blushed and nodded. After breakfast, Luke led me to a local store.

"That one would look good on you," he mumbled into my ear as we passed a couple of people.

"How would you know?"

"Just guessing," he grabbed the one he had his eye on.

It was a baby blue bathing suit by the brand Triangle.

"You're lucky I like blue," I muttered and went to try it on.

It fit me perfectly and when I changed back to my normal outfit, Luke was already waiting outside the changing room. I grinned at him and he beamed back at me. We paid for the items and he then led me to the beach.

"Alright, I'm just gonna show you the basics, alright? I'm not perfect at it though."

The two of us walked to the Rent-A-Board stand. I picked out a yellow and blue surf board while Lukey picked out a red and yellow one.

"Alright step one, paddle," He spoke getting into the water.

"You sure there's no sharks in there?"

"I promise they won't hurt you, come on."

I waded into the water with the board and sat on it like Luke.

"Lay down to paddle, like this," he motioned his hands and I followed.

For the rest of the day, we surfed. I didn't really get the hang of it yet, but I'm sure I will soon.

We returned the boards and Luke clasped our hands together.

"Come on, let's run to the rocks before the sunset starts!"

He began jogging and I followed. When we got to the rocks, Luke and I sat down, then laying my head on his shoulder.

"I've never seen a sun set before," I mumbled.

"Good, this will be your first time with me then."

"Do you do this with all your friends that are girls?"

"If they're special, yeah."

So I'm special?
