The First Rescue

"Uh.." Thomas looked around the square. Just yesterday he was so excited to be in Broomstown but now it was kind of scary. He didn't know anyone and Roy wasn't with him. It made him feel small.

"Watch it kid!" A car said driving by. He went closer to the statue. Where is he supposed to stand, is he allowed to stay still around here?

Honestly Thomas wanted to go back to the Rescue Center. Why did he listen to that girl? Roy told him to stay put and now he doesn't know what to do. Other than head back. Taking out the map, he didn't notice the speeding blue tow truck or the muddy puddle. The truck zooms by splashing Thomas with water.

"Sorry!" The truck calls out. Thomas sighed. Second time today with the water splashing. He looked down at the map and realized that it got messed up. The water made the imagine blurry and the mud staining made it unreadable.

"Uh.." He didn't know which way to go to the Rescue Center. It's somewhere in the center of the island.

He decided just to go into a random gate. What's the worst that could happen?

Get lost. That's exactly what happened. Thomas was near the ocean and cliffs and he was admittedly terrified. He had no idea where he was and kept driving. At least the dolphins were cute to watch.

"PULL!"

Thomas heard the shouting. Grunting and something cranky. He rushes toward the sound and looks from the corner of a large boulder.

The Rescue Team was pulling a big truck up from a cliff. Roy was in his vechile mode holding the back end with crane while Poli and Amber were using hooks to bring him up. Helly was at the back trying to lift the car up

"Poli! His carrier is too heavy! I can't lift it!" Roy yells.

"We have to unhook it!"

"You can't!" Terry yells trying to pull himself up. "It's gasoline! If my carrier falls in, it's going to ruin the ocean. Ahh!" The Rocky cliff breaks a bit and Terry slips down. Helly grunts as he tries to keep him from falling any further. However the cliff was on the verge of breaking.

"Poli, if we don't do something we're all falling down!" Helly yells.

"We have to pull harder! Roy tried lifting him again!"

Roy uses his crane and grunts. All the gasoline was making it a struggle to lift. He was able to lift halfway before it stopped.

"It's too heavy. I can't lift it anymore!"

Thomas started thinking about what to do. They would all fall in if they didn't get someone to lift the back. WaitMaybe he could do something. He looked at the truck's back. Maybe he could aim his grapples to grab into the truck's platform edges

"I'm here to help!" Thomas showed himself surprising everyone. Roy especially

"Thomas, what the-" Losing focus, his strength almost gives out and Terry is sliding them. Roy barely corrects himself and looks at Thomas sternly .

"This isn't safe for you! Why are you here? Please! You need to get out of here!"

"No! I can help! Please! I know what to do!" Thomas rushes over to the edge of the cliff. He takes his grapples out and looks at the target. The end of the platform. He glared and shoots. It misses and Thomas retracts. He shouts again and barely hits the edge.

"Thomas! What are you doing!" Helly asked.

"Grab my hook!" As one shoots out, Helly grabs it in and knows exactly what to do. Another one shoots out and he does the same. Thomas takes a deep breath and pulls.

"Oh. Alright Roy! Again!

Slowly Terry is being lifted up. Now that an extra eight was taken off, it was easier to lift. He was soon level up to the ground and they all pull back and he's finally safe.

"Phew." They all said. Thomas pants and falls flat on the ground. Roy rushes over nudginging him.

"Are you okay?"

"Tired.."

"Must be. That was kind of dangerous for you."

"I'm sorry.. I got lost and well found the rescue.."

"I'm proud."

"Huh.." Thomas looks at Roy with awe. His brother smiles

"You knew what to do in such a dire situation. Hooking yourself to help lift Terry up. I didn't think you could do it."

"So.. Can I go to another rescue?"

"Not a chance." Roy responded. Thomas opened his mouth to protest "Not the big rescues at least. You're still training and I still need to teach you some lessons. But afterward, I might allow you to come."

"Fine.."

"But first, how about a new comic book after this?And ice cream too?"

"Yeah!"

A/N The only reason why Roy is so cautious with bring Thomas on Rescues is because he knows his mom is going to strangle him if something bad happened to his little brother (Guess who's the favorite-)
