"Felix, do I look okay?" A worried Yena asked her best friend while brushing her hair and checking her reflection in the visor mirror.
"Must you ask that every five minutes?" Felix replied with a sigh and rolled his eyes.
It was a busy night of the 31st of December and the gang would be welcoming the New Year together by celebrating at the Hwang residence.
Felix was almost at the verge of kicking Yena out of his car as the girl kept fidgeting around and looking at herself in the mirror during the entire ride.
He was also complaining the entire time that Chan was supposed to be the one to drive them to Hyunjin and Yeji's place but the hyung was forced to pick up Minho and Changbin who were too lazy to drive by themselves.
"Must you be so mean to me?" Yena replied with a pout.
The freckled boy just chuckled and gave a pat on her head.
"You look fine. Hyunjin won't say otherwise." He teased, earning a pinch on the arm by Yena.
"Shut up. I didn't mention him."
"You didn't need to. Why else would you worry about how you look unless he's around?" He replied with a shrug, eyes still on the road.
"Which reminds me, you never told me the deetz about your little date during Christmas Eve." Felix excitedly said and wiggled his eyebrows.
Yena kept silent and her cheeks were getting warm again as she remembered her little kdrama moment with Hyunjin last Christmas Eve.
After their little date, Hyunjin was also silent the entire ride home and they haven't seen each other since then as Yena went on a trip with her family.
They did exchange a few texts though, greeting each other a Merry Christmas but abruptly ended after that.
She wanted to tell the freckled friend next to her everything that happened that day but Felix being the chatterbox that he is, she decided not. Maybe not yet.
She feels a little flustered since it would be days since she last saw and talked to Hyunjin and she knew it would be awkward once they see each other since they really didn't talk about what happened.
"You don't need to know." She simply said and looked away.
Felix just chuckled and decided to leave her be and just pester her about it another time.
As they finally reached the Hwang's home, they rang the doorbell.
The door opened with a beautiful middle aged woman who every girl at school would like to thank for giving birth to Hwang Hyunjin.
