My eyes fluttered open slowly, as I glanced around quickly, only to find Cole smiling down at me.
"So peaceful when you sleep, but awake so alert and careful. What happened between when I left and now?" He asked quietly, as I sighed heavily.
"A lot." I replied, putting my head back on his chest and pulling the blankets further up, their warmth seeping into my body and warding off the cold. "I don't want to talk about it."
"Searching. Not in his usual spot, have to find him. Varric is looking for me, I need to go. You should get ready." He said, trailing off before smiling at me once more and disappearing, leaving my head to thump into the mattress. I sighed into the covers before crawling off the bed and looking around to see if anybody was watching in.
I moved away from the window before pulling off all of my bed clothes and slipping my other clothes on. It was only a longish top and some jeans but it was comfy under my armour. I looked at myself in the mirror before leaving. My hazelnut eyes stared back at me with light bags under my eyes, reminding me of my experience from last night. I shuddered at the memory, by long brown hair moving with me. I grabbed a bit of sting off the table next to me and secured my hair in a ponytail behind my head and pushed the remaining strands behind my ear, the mirror doing exactly what I was. My plump lips pulled up into a smile and my cheeks were slightly rosy in the light, but I turned round and splashed some water in my face in case it was because I was too warm, but the iciness of the water made me gasp in shock. When I was finished, I heard a knock from outside the door as I strode over and opended it, peeking out to see Varric and Cole stood outside my room, waiting patiently.
"Are you ready for some breakfast?" Varric asked, as I nodded and came out the doorway, shutting and locking it behind me.
"How'd you sleep last night?" He quizzed, as I shuffled my feet nervously. "Not so good then?"
"It was a nightmare. I'm fine." I mumbled, glancing at Cole to see him hiding his face with his hat.
"Well then, a good meal and a bottle should get rid of that." He exclaimed, leading us over the barracks and back to the main hall. Cole and Varric ended up behind me a few steps as he spoke quietly to Cole. Curiosity got the better of me.
"What's up?" I asked, as they both looked up from their conversation. Cole just nodded at Varric before he stunned to me.
"It's.... Well you might as well know. It's the reason we're going out. I'll say over food." He sighed, as we all entered through the great halls doors.
We all gathered round a row of tables on the left hand side of the room, the table laid with fruits and pastries that looked like they came from Orlais. Cole sat next to me and Varric was on the opposite side, a large Quinari next to him. He had an eye patch on his left eye and a long scar running down it, as well as two big ass horns that jutted out from the side of his head, which bent upwards at right angles. His chest was rippling with muscles, and the size comparison between him and Varric was hilarious. It was roughly the size of a person in between them. Oh Maker, if the Quinari called Varric tiny it would be perfect! I could hear Cole chuckle quietly to himself, what at I don't know, but I smirked along with him.
"Who's Mr Big then?" I asked, pointing my fork at the Quinari as he grunted at me, staring me down.
"The Iron Bull. That's, who Mr Big is. And these are the Chargers. Best merc company around." He announced proudly, shovelling some sort of meat in his mouth. "And who might you be?"
"Scarlett, but some people call me Scar."
"I can see why. How'd you get the one on your face?" He asked, as I noticed Cole staring at his horns.
