Elizabeth 's POV

"How long have two been dating secretly? " Mrs king asked .

At her question we both looked at each other , not knowing what to reply but then after a moment I said " 8 months "
While he Decided the same moment to say " 10 months"

Oh no !
Now our cover is blown .

Both the ladies stared at us with doubts

I still tried to cover up with a nervous chuckle.
" We started dating 8 months ago ! You know boys.... Never good with numbers !! " As i looked at my partner to play along . As if on cue , he let out a small apologetic smile towards me .

" But Zach was never bad at numbers , infact he is pro ! " Chloe butted in.

I am starting to hate this man for being brilliant !

Think! Think of something Beth ! Think !

" Umm ...Actually he  asked me out about 10 months ago but I declined so"

" So you mean to say he courted you for two straight months!!? " Chloe asked with wide shocked eyes while her mother's held something akin to doubt .

" Well kind of !" I sheepishly muttered . Oh god i am turning into a professional liar.

" Why would you even turn him down ? He is smart , handsome , rich ?? " Chloe asked with a tint if confusion

Money isn't everything !!

" Actually I  had a terrible breakup before i moved here so i guess I was not ready for a new start . On the top of that Him being my boss was a big NO NO for me !" Atleast something is truth in this facade.

" So how did that big NO changed into yes ? " Mrs King asked , she did not believed me. Her eyes were not curious , they were boring into mine to seek the truth.

" I guess , your son is very stubborn . He make sure to get what he wants ! " I tried to divert the serious conversation into a comical one .

" That I do ! " Ice king butted in ,as he leaned towards me playing the loving boyfriend he  nuzzled his nose in my hairs and lightly  pecked my crown .

" This is getting more and more interesting ! Tell me how all this happened ! " Chloe asked curiously , with a big grin on her face .Her eyes held shock and admiration as she saw her brother being romantic .She clearly believe us now .

" Indeed , I would love to know how my grumpy son turned into a romantic one ! "

" Stop it ladies ! Mom you invited us over to interrogate or dinner?? "

" We are just curious and this isn't interrogation . Perhaps you are keeping something from us , maybe that's why you feel like being interrogated ".Mrs king questioned

" Oh ! You know ....he was just his persistent self ! " I answered not knowing what to say .i sipped my drink slowly

I mean , what am I supposed to say . He clearly isn't someone who will buy you chocolate and flowers !

I can't even imagine him asking a girl out , much less chasing her for two straight months .

" How persistent was he ?? I mean what he actually did to make you say yes??" Chloe asked again .

Someone help me out !

" That's something we don't wanna disclose , right babe ?" My eyes were as wide as Jupiter as he winked giving me a sexy smirk. He placed his hand on my thigh making sure both the ladies saw his hand .
