Albedo had offered to accompany me to Inazuma after I had mentioned that I would be travelling there to search for my soulmate.
I was one of the rare people that had more than one soulmate. I had two infact, and my friend Albedo had requested to join me as Inazuma was also on his list of places to do soulmate research in and I had agreed as I too was curious about what his findings would be and I wouldn't mind the company. To be completely honest though I also felt a little bad for him as he also had yet to find his soulmate so readily agreed that he could accompany me and now here we were.
---
It was approximately half way into our journey from Liyue to Inazuma when I started to feel strange. At first my legs had stared to tingle but I just thought they had fallen asleep so I stood up from my position on a crate in order to stretch them, but the minute I stood up a flash of pain shot up my spine and I gasped under my breath my body doubling over.
"Albedo?" I whispered, my hand now holding my chest where my heart was.
He hummed his an acknowledgement of his name from where he was sat only a couple of feet away from me but didn't look up from where he was sketching.
"I think its them" I said, and my voice cracked as I spoke. "my soulmates, or at least one of them". I had realised pretty fast that the sudden pain had to be related to the proximity of my soulmates. Albedo glanced up sharply at that, closing his sketch book and swiftly rising to his feet to join my by the rail where I had been standing near to. The pain quickly faded and so I straightened myself up and my legs carried me to the edge of the railing to which- if I squinted hard enough- I could see the land of Inazuma growing closer on the horizon by the second. We stood like that for a couple of minutes until I broke the silence:
"Do you want to meet your soulmate Albedo?" I asked quietly then panicked. "No, what am I saying, who wouldn't." He didn't seem fazed though.
"I am sure it is normal to be feeling nervous Y/n. You can be nervous and still want to meet them"
He offered me what I assumed was his best attempt at an encouraging smile and I appreciated it neither the less.
"I just hope which ever soulmate I met first won't be put off by the fact I have another as well as them." I sighed into the wind.
Albedo tilted his head slightly, pondering my musing.
"I believe that if two people are made for each other as soulmates supposedly are then it shouldn't matter to them if you have another soulmate." He answered.
His words made me think of similar circumstances I had seen on my travels and I let his words give me some much needed courage.
"You're right! soulmates were given to people for a reason and trust is a big part of that, and I'm sure I will love them and they will love me no matter who or what we are. Thank you Albedo I really needed that. I hope you find your special someone someday as well."
He only gave me a tentative smile in return.

I was practically bouncing on my feet with impatience by the time the Captain of the boat we were on announced our impending arrival at Inazuma's harbour. Albedo already had our correct papers ready to hand to border control so there was nothing left for me to do as I watched the port come closer and closer as we finally docked and the boat's wooden platform slowly descend onto the promenade.
The minute my feet touched solid ground I pivoted in a hopeful attempt to see if I could spot my soulmate right away as I knew he was close by from the way my heart was beating like crazy and my hands had started to shake with excitement.
