Stalk on You (Taekook)

9 | TRAUMAS

Jin just arrived home from work and was about to go straight upstairs when he heard a noise coming from the lanai. The noise was faint at first so he couldn't decipher what it was. Jin went to check it out and that's when he saw Jungkook curled in a ball, sobbing and repeatedly saying, "It's my fault."

Jin rushed to Jungkook's side, sat him upright and cupped his face.

"Look at me Jungkook. It's Jin hyung. Listen to me, Jungkook. It's not your fault okay? Hyung is not mad, see? I don't blame you for the accident."

Jungkook sobbed louder, "Jin hyung? Hyung, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to distract Appa. I just wanted to go back home. He was taking me away. I don't want to be with him, hyung. I'm sorry hyung. Appa and Taehyung's parents died because of me. He will hate me hyung. He will hate me so much and he will stay away from me."

"Jungkook, please stop this. It's not your fault okay? Come here on the couch, lie down on hyung's lap and sleep."

Jin guided Jungkook to the couch and the latter followed what his hyung said. He rested his head on Jin's lap as the older caressed his brother's hair. After a while, Jungkook's sobs died down as he fell asleep.

Jin took his phone out from his coat pocket — careful not to wake Jungkook up. He typed a message to his eomma.

Jin
Eomma, Jungkook's slipping again.

Eomma
What?! Okay, I'm almost there.

Jin
Drive safely mom. Don't worry he fell asleep just now.

Eomma
Do you know what triggered it?

Jin
I have no idea, but he messaged me earlier to tell me that he invited Taehyung for coffee.

Eomma
You have to talk to Taehyung to find out, Jin. He might have the answer for us to know how we can pull him out of it.

Jin
I don't think Jungkook will like that idea, eomma.

Eomma
Why?

Jin
Eomma, Taehyung doesn't know that Jungkook was the boy he saved from that car accident.

Eomma
What?! All along I thought that one of you would have told him the truth already!

Jin
Jungkook wanted to be the one to tell him.

Eomma
Aish! I should have pushed for that dinner to happen sooner. He should have been honest upfront.

Jin
It's complicated, eomma.

Eomma
You know something I don't, am I right? Baek Jeon Seokjin, you'd better tell me everything when I get home. You hear me?!

Jin
Yes, eomma.

Jin knew that their eomma is already mad as she rarely called them by their full name. Baek is the surname of their father; Jeon, their mother's. The entire family all agreed to have their legal names changed to their mother's surname several years after the tragic accident.

With his mother's current angry and worried state, Jin had no choice but to tell his mother about Jungkook's feelings for Taehyung...and the extent of how the latter expresses it.  He's not even sure anymore if it was a good idea to hide it from their mother in the first place.  It's just that Jin noticed how Jungkook got "better" when he started to "guard" Taehyung.
