I stepped into the bus, clean and air conditioned, yep. I could live like this.

I had just said goodbye to my parents. Mom was bawling, and dad was the proudest person alive. Though I would miss them, I probably wouldn't lose sleep over it.

The rest of the girls were on the bus already, and we had predetermined the bunks. Bottom right, first from the entrance for me. I dropped my trunk on the bunk and flopped onto the couch.

I turned to my friends. "This is it motherfuckers. This is our dream, coming true before our eyes."

Kat took a picture.

The bus started up, and we drove towards our first stop, though I could only experience 5 minutes of said drive, because I fell asleep.

When I woke up, we were in Texas. The rest of the busses were already there, because we were the worlds hugest slowpokes we were last to arrive.

Naomi had skipped off to find Vic, and so Daka and I set off to find our 'target'.

Daka ran out of the bus, looking high and low.

"Dakota. Your bobbing and weaving looks suspicious." I said in an unimpressed tone.

She slowed down to keep pace with me and sure enough there he was.

Standing with his own band and black veil brides was Bret Von Dehl.

Bret caught sight of us.

"DAKA!" He grinned.

I forgot he knew Dakota.

"Bret!" she smiled lightly.

"How are you?" he asked, seeming energetic.

"Oh fine. OH! I forgot to introduce Phoenix... Phoenix?" she called out.

Wait... how did I get 7 meters away from Dakota? Oh right! She was standing with my inspiration and I was awkward and nervous.

I had, without realizing it, walked a fair distance away, but not so far I was out of earshot.

I walked towards Daka.

"H-hi." I said quietly. I was DYING inside. This was NOTHING like those stupid wattpad fanfictions! Weren't you supposed to like, be fearless and cool?

"Bret, Phoenix. Phoenix, Bret." Said Daka.

"Hello." Bret greeted me shyly.

He had quieted down a fair bit so I assumed he was not a huge talker.
Also not like the fanfictions.

Bret smiled at me a bit and I smiled back, I looked at Dakota pleadingly because I didn't know what to do next, but, as Naomi had predicted, her eyes were superglued to Jinxx.

"EARTH TO DAKOTA." I called.

"Shhhhhhh. He's pretty." Daka silenced me.

I rolled my eyes and walked up to black veil brides.

"Hello! I'm Phoenix-Lynn!"

"Woah, cool, you're from that band painkiller!" Andy beamed.

"That's the one! Me and my friend Dakota are huge fans." I smirked and pulled Dakota over. "I need to go, but Dakota really wanted to meet you guys! See ya round!"

I turned and walked back to the relapse symphony. Bret looked at me and laughed lightly.

"You seem like a good wingman." he chuckled.

"T-thanks." I said in almost a whisper.

We started chatting walking, till we walked by his bus.

At that time it was about 7:30 or so.

"It's been awesome talking to you Phoenix, I gotta go though. Wanna hang out tomorrow between sets?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure." I shrugged. "C'ya Bret!" I smiled and waved.

It had only been about half an hour, but I could tell he was a nice guy. He would be a nice friend to have.

As I walked back to the bus I tried to imagine Bret and Naomi together. No. Nope. Uh uh. Nada. That would not work. He was very relaxed, but sarcastic and funny, while Naomi was a total ball of energy. She couldn't shut up, and was very wild. I found it a little odd that he never did bring Naomi up, but then again maybe he didn't like talking about her..

I stopped into the bus again, and Skye and Kat were playing cards at the table.

"How'd it go?" asked Kat, dealing out cards.

"Great! Bret's a nice guy. This may as well not even be a mission, I'd've liked hanging out with him anyways." I laughed an fell into my bed.

Yep. Summer was going off without a hitch for sure.
