During the rest of your ride home, you found yourself texting back and forth with Mark throughout the next while. Your friend would sometimes still tease you, whenever they saw you move and look at your phone, however it soon died down. The playlist filled a majority of the silence. The conversation with the man was somewhat nice. You both checked in on one another, talking about random things to pass the long winding time. It almost made you forget about the weight that was nestled beside you, the book in your bag, and the curiosity about the man you saw at the diner. It helped give your mind something else to focus on, almost a bit too well, because, unfortunately, texting and being a passenger in a car isn't always the best.
Motion-sickness is unfortunately a thing. Yay.
Upon the intensity of the sinking, dizzying feeling rising in your stomach, nausea creeping up on you, only then do you decide to put the conversation on pause. Well, at least for a bit, seeing as you would rather not vomit the awesome meal you had a while back.
It seems Mark had a similar idea, understanding and mentioning that he should probably make sure that today's video went up.When it was brought up nonchalantly, it finally broke you from your temporary ignorance. Oh...The channel Markiplier, of course! It made way for your other thoughts, the ones you were trying to ignore, reminding you of the manor, along with everything else. You blink at your phone as you eye the last message he sent you about it.
M - No need to worry, it's all good. We can continue to talk, if you'd like, later when you get back to the hotel! I got to go and make sure today's videos are uploaded anyway.
After a moment of getting lost in thought, you snap out of it, quietly tapping away at the digital keyboard, fingers fluttering over each key as you type out.
Y - Right! Alright, thank you for understanding, you should probably get to that lol
You almost send it, before pausing and deciding to add on something.Y - Right! Alright, thank you for understanding, you should probably get to that lol Speaking of tho, if it is okay of course, got any first video recommendation to watch when I get back?
You hope your tone in the text comes off more light as it was genuine. Even if you had to look into this person, and it was a public channel...Better to be somewhat respectful...right?
Not to mention, a little assistance in finding your first ever video to watch, would not hurt. What's not better if not a recommendation from the man himself?
You watch as 3 dots surrounded by a chat bubble flicker to life on the corner of the screen for a moment, before raising your head to look ahead of you, at the road the car continued to drive down. You don't want to continue to get ill. You try and ignore a wave of discomfort arising in your stomach, a familiar sign of how it would only continue to escalate and worsen if you dare continue.
You keep the phone screen on, as you instead force yourself to take in the scenery around you. By this point, you were edging near the entrance of L.A, but not quite yet. Around you currently was a small town, one of the couple spread throughout the land. For something so small, there was quite a bit of life bustling. It is quite fascinating going through these towns, a humbling reminder of just how much was out there, besides your hometown, and Los Angeles.
You both were slowly nearing L.A though, making alright time for it starting to near noon, the early afternoon. Still though with the progress thus far, it was a likely chance you would not get to the hotel until much, much later.
The phone's gentle buzz in your hand made you hesitantly look down, quickly pressing the power button to awaken the screen. You hoped you wouldn't have to direct your attention from the road in front of you for too long, you did not want to deal with the consequences of motion sickness. You unlock your phone and skim Mark's reply, a part of you slightly nervous about what he was going to say, adding to your already uncomfortable feelings. You hope it didn't seem like an odd question, the last thing you wanted to do was make him uncomfortable, or make things seem off.
