You let your friend travel to their own room before heading to your very own, your own plastic bags, packed items, and carry-on swaying with every step you took. Only when you reached your room and were able to haphazardly turn the knob and bump open the door, did your rigid grip loosen. Once you placed the bags by the provided hotel closet you closed your door with a soft click. You did not immediately step away from it to move on, just taking a moment to think and just breathe.

Your friend understood to an extent and respected you too, however, they were desperate for answers. Answers you don't have the heart to tell them.

...

For now, they understood but were still heavily suspicious. They now knew 100% something was up, but not truly what it was.

It would be something they would have to accept for now, until you understood everything more, maybe until you met Dark in person or some form of actual proof that would show how serious this...all turned into.

You turn, your back gently thumping against the smooth oak door, now facing the rest of the room itself. You're quiet as you look on for a few moments, before letting gravity help drag you down, and you slide your back down the door, now sitting in front of it, staring into your room, probably like an idiot, or something.

It wasn't until your phone buzzed that you finally look away, breaking from your thoughts, attention now captured by the phone in your pocket. You shift, adjusting how you sat on the ground whilst your hand moved, sliding under the fabric of your clothes pocket to retrieve the device.

It was another message from...Mark?

You pause, looking puzzled by why you would get a text from him again after all this time, but shrug it off, before tapping at your device, with the intent of viewing the message better, and even responding.

Mark - Hey, just checking in! Hope you guys' road trip is going good!

A simple text that managed to ease you slightly from your concerned feelings about your friend, after everything that just happened. Slightly. You move, leaning back into the door as your limbs unfurl, becoming less tense as you lift the phone up, opening the keyboard. You take a moment, pausing, unsure of what to say, before settling on the following.

You - Hey! We actually just got home a bit ago. Also dont worry, no more motion sickness.

A couple of seconds pass and the familiar sight of the three flickering dots in the corner appear, signifying Mark was typing. He saw the message.

Mark - That's good to hear! Not too bad timing actually. Glad you both made it home okay. Glad you aren't sick anymore, that would not be good lol. Besides that, for the past couple of hours I have been doing some thinking, but I need to know one question. Are you free tommorow?

Your eyes quickly skimmed each word, curious about his response. After finishing you pause, a bit unsure yourself. You would imagine after the whole Manor escapade with your friend would leave you with a couple of free days left, to enjoy the last of the vacation. The major, probably life-changing event was now all said and done..You doubt your friend had many plans. Suffice to say, despite the urge to just bury yourself under the covers and just rest the next few days, and just focus on this whole spooky book and the history of the manor...

Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to see him again? Well, despite the whole being on alert and everything, something that still confused you.

The question was, however, would your friend be okay with it? Would they accompany you? Or is this something you will have to do solo?

Despite the questions floating in your mind, you manage to reply.

You - I believe so, I'll have to double-check with (BF/N) but I am pretty sure after our little adventure, we have our schedules free. Why? You got anything in mind?
