F: Hello friends, I have summoned you here today to discuss the awkwardness between Riley and Maya. What's going on?

Z: Dude you don't have to be so formal. The girls are acting weird and you wanna know what's up. All ya had to say.

S: I see no reason to be included in this. Though I will admit that they're my friends I do not think prying into their personal affairs falls under the definition of friendship.

Z: They have a problem. We're their friends. We but in. That's exactly how friendship works.

Z: Right Lucas?

L: Uhh maybe stay out of it

Z: Why? Do you know something we don't know? Do you know why they are acting so weird?

Lucas looked at his phone. He didn't know how to respond. If he told them what was going on they might take sides and then it could tear apart their whole group. He knew that Farkle would jump to defend Riley even though he claims to love them both equally. And he knew Zay preferred Maya after many conversations they had about the blonde beauty. He figured Smackle either wouldn't take sides or she would agree with Farkle just because they're in a relationship and she thinks it works that way. However, the longer he didn't respond....

Z: You do know something!

F: What?! What do you know? Please enlighten us, Lucas..

S: I honestly do not want to know. Remove me from this group text, darling. I am staying out of it.

F: Alright dear.. Sorry

L: You guys should leave well enough alone. Just let them work it out amongst themselves

Z: Ooohhh he definitely knows something. Come on tell ussss

F: Tell us what's going on

L: I'm not saying anything about this. Either ask them or just forget about it. Plus it's none of your business anyway. This is between me and Maya!

"Shoot." Lucas tried to delete the text, but it had already been sent.

L:  I meant Riley and Maya

He tried to recover but it was too late. Soon his phone was being blown up by the texts of his two concerned and nosy best friends.

F: What? You and Maya?!

Z: I knew it! I could tell you two were been flirtier than usual!

F: "Flirtier" is not a word

F: And what do you mean?!

Z: Fine more flirty! Whatever!

Z: Point is Lucas and Maya are totally dating!! Happy for ya buddyyyy!! 😁😁😁👍👍

F: Happy?? But Riley is upset.. How could you be dating Maya?! What about how Riley feels?! You're her ex-boyfriend, you can't date her best friend.. That's against some sort of girl code!

Z: girl code, schmerl code. Maya deserves to be happy too!

F: Maya is never happy!

Z: you saying she don't deserve happiness?! Thought you loved her.. Both of them equally, right?

F: I do love her.. Them! Equally!

F: Don't try to confuse me! This is about Maya and Lucas!

Z: Hey, if Lucas loves Maya and Maya loves Lucas and they are both happy then I'm happy for them! Yeah it sucks that Riley isn't happy right now, but she'll be okay. Not everyone gets to end up with their first crush.. Did you??

F: We are not talking about me! I have Isadora and I an perfectly happy with my girlfriend!

Z: Okay, so you and Smacks get to be happy, but Maya and Lucas don't?? They love each other!!

F: You have no proof! Riley and Lucas like each other! I have proof! Scientific evidence!

Z: There is nothing scientific about love or feelings!

L: Would you 2 please stop

F: Tell the truth, you like Riley?

L: Of course I to. She's a great friend and I'm sorry I upset her

F: There! Case closed!

Z: Wait..

Z: Tell the truth Lucas, you love Maya! Say it! I know you do!

L: Yes! I'm in love with Maya!

L: ..and when I texted to tell her Riley had her phone.. She pretended to be Maya and I thought I was taking to Maya so when she asked me if I ever loved Riley I said no.. I didn't know Riley had Maya's phone?! I'm sorry!

Z: Ohhh dang man

F: You told Riley you never loved her?? Why would you say that?!

L: I thought I was talking to Maya! It was supposed to be a private conversation! Why are you mad at me? Riley is the one who took Maya's phone, invaded her privacy, and pretended to be her!

Z: Easy buddy, I'm not mad at you. Riley shouldn't have snooped through Maya's phone, but she did and you said you never loved her.. It's just kinda harsh.. I think you should talk to Riley about this..

F: I agree. Even if you thought you were talking to Maya and even if Riley was wrong to pretend to be Maya, you hurt Riley's feelings. You need to fix things. Apologize.

L: I'm sorry, but no.

F: No??

Z: you're not gonna pologize

L: No. I'm not sorry for anything I said in a private text to Maya. Riley is the one who should apologize. Not me or Maya.

F: But you hurt her feelings.. You should at least apologize for that.

L: No. Riley's feelings wouldn't have gotten hurt if she never snooped through Maya's texts. This is on her, not us. Riley is the one in the wrong and I won't apologize for loving Maya.

Z: we're not saying you have to apologize for loving Maya.. we're saying you should apologize for hurting Riley's feelings.. Even if she was never supposed to see it.

L: Well I'm not going to
