Nabby pushed herself forward, teeth gritted as she looked up to see Gerudo Town in sight. This was her last lap, once she reached the town she could sneak off somewhere and fall asleep. Angry, she screamed at the top of her lungs, knowing that no one could here her even if she really was in trouble. Pushing herself to run even faster, she rounded a small sand dune, and found herself at the front entrance to Gerudo Town. Surprisingly, the leader of the Gerudo herself was standing there, impatiently waiting for her granddaughter to return.

"Follow me" she instructed, not even giving the girl enough time to catch her breath before she turned around and started walking. Nabby followed her quickly, and Nabooru led her to the Gerudo Palace. Well, it couldn't really be called a palace. It wasn't as grand as Hyrule Castle, or even as well decorated as the throne room in Zora's Domain. But it was where the seat of power (which was currently her) sat, and all government meetings took place. So it was referred to as the palace. "Where's Riju?" Nabby asked, looking around the throne room as they entered. "She finished hours before you did" Nabooru replied, which seemed to anger Nabby anymore. But she didn't say anything. "Is she here as well?"

"No" Nabooru answered, clenching her fists. This girl was really getting on her nerves. "You are here because a letter arrived just now... from your mother" Nabby stopped in her tracks, fists clenching. "Keep walking, I'm not going to wait for you" said Nabooru, continuing to walk down the long corridor. "Right in here" she made her way into the throne room, and picked up a small note from the side of the throne, opening it carefully. Then, careful as ever, she handed it to Nabby, who looked at the note.

Mother

I know it has been long since we have spoken. And I also know that last time we spoke, it was not on a good note. But despite all that, I love my daughter, despite that her name is yours as well. I beg of you to bring her home. Tell her that we're not angry, any of us... and that her father is home. I'm begging you to bring her home. Link is thinking of going to get her, and Saria nearly killed him when he said that he was leaving. Please mother, at least ask her to come home. And tell her that I love her.

Sincerely, your daughter,

Malon

Nabby had the sudden urge to crumple the note and through it out into the dunes of the Gerudo Desert. How dare her mother do that? Try to force her back into a life that she didn't enjoy nearly as much as this (even though she wasn't the most popular among the other girls)! If she had wanted her to stay, she should have been more leneant and understanding. "I am not going home" she growled, putting the note down beside the throne. "I expected as much... I do not believe that your mother understands the ways of the Gerudo. Or that some are not meant to grow up on a farm. But that we were born to be warriors of the desert"

The conversation ended at that, and Nabby started to make her way out of the Throne Room, the thought of the letter still fresh in her mind. "Lonlon, wait a moment" said Nabooru, who was now sitting on the throne, her chin resting on her fist. "What is it my lady?" she asked, turning on her heal and dropping to one knee. "No need for that, there is no one else here" Nabby rose hesitantly, and looked at the Queen of the Gerudo. "I suggest you send a letter to your mother. Try to talk her into letting this whole thing go... She may be a farm girl, but Malon is very persistent when it comes to such matters... Oh, and while you're at it, send a letter to your sister as well, I hear she's become quite the archer. We could use someone like her in our ranks"

Nabby nodded, bowed, and walked out of the room.

She made her way down the hallway, out of the palace, and all the way to the feast hall, where most of the girls were already finished with dinner. Scanning the crowd for Abby, she went and sat down, stealing a bread roll from a younger girls plate and sticking it in her mouth. The girl didn't even seem to realize that something was missing, and went on talking with her friends. "Hiya Ruto!" said Abby, grinning as she continued to eat. "For the last time, it's Nabooru, or Nabby. Not Ruto" she replied, shaking her head. Abby shrugged and took another bite of her food. "Whatever you say Ruto"

Nabby shook her head again and continued to eat.

"Tell me, Abby, did your real family ever try to come after you when you first joined the Gerudo" Abby seemed a little stunned by this, and slowly placed her fork down, barely making a sound on the plate. "No. They didn't. Trust me, my parents were nothing like yours" she said, after thinking for a moment. "My mother was a Gerudo... but she died when I was younger. And dad was an alcoholic, he would chase me and my sisters around all the time... It was terrifying. But luckily we came here when I was eight" Abby's siblings were a not there age. Her oldest sister was 25, and the youngest was about 16. She'd known that they didn't come from a great family, but until now, she had no idea they had ever had a father. "Anyways, what's this about Ruto?"

"N - Nothing.... never mind, let's just eat"
