"Uh, we have to have a preliminary exam before we can move on to the real one." He explained, Naruto looked at him confused.
"A what?" Sakura asked, Shikamaru looked at him annoyed.
"Preliminary? Just what do you mean by that?" He shouted, glaring at the examiner.
"I'm sorry Sensei, excuse me, but I really dont see the point. What's this preliminary all about? Why can't we just move on to the third exam?" She asked, confused.
"Well, you see, the first and second exams might have been too easy. The fact is, we never expected so many of you to still be here. According to the rules of the Chunin Exams, a preliminary round can be held at any stage in order to reduce the number of candidates remaining." He explained, Y/n gave a small sigh and rubbed her head.
"But is that fair?" Sakura asked, looking nervous.
"It's just that at this stage, we have to speed things up a bit. As Lord Hokage said, a lot of important guests will be watching. We can't afford to waste their time. They've come to see only the best. So if there are any of you who feel you're nothin too physical condition, bows your chance to-" He started coughing.
"Sorry about that. As I was saying, any of you who don't feel up to this, nows the time for you to bow out. The preliminaries will be starting immediately." He explained, Y/n sighed softly and leaned her head against Naruto's back.
"Come on, you mean right now?" Kiba shouted.
"We just finished barely surviving the last exam. Don't we get a break?" Ino asked, Shikamaru looked away.
"Man, what a drag." He sighed.
"When do we eat?" Choji asked, looking sad. Naruto gulped from nervous nerves.
"Oh yeah, the winners will be determined by one in one combat, sudden death. So like I said, if there's anyone who doesn't fell up to it, nows the time to raise your hand." He said, Sasuke looked annoyed when suddenly Y/n and Sasuke felt a sudden shock of pain in there shoulders.
A started shaking along with Sasuke. Y/n gave a small noise of pain, holding her shoulder. She dropped to one of her knees.
"Sasuke, Y/n, listen to me. You both have got to quit." Sakura said, Sasukes and Y/n's eyes widened.
"You two have been like this ever since you two tangled with Orochimaru and you both are getting worse. It's the mark he put on you two, isn't it? You two can't deny it." Sakura whispered, having flashbacks of them being bit.
The white haired girl looked over at Y/n and her eyes widened.
'I-is she okay? Should I help her? She looks like she's in so much pain...' She thought, looking sadly at the black and orange haired girl.
Sakura started shaking at the horrid flashbacks of the two.
"Please. Please, Sasuke, please Y/n. Quit now before- I don't know what. I'm scared." Her eyes started to water and Y/n's heart shattered.
"It's just as I feared, what do we do with them?" The Third asked, Anko looked at the two.
"We take them out of the exam, hand them over to the black ops, and let them keep them locked up. We have to keep those seals under control." Anko said, eyeing the two.
