A/n : I doubt anyone ever watched this movie but it made me sob so hard I couldn't breathe-
This is of course the adult version of Bobby, idc if he's presumed dead because of the end of the movie, TO ME HE'S NOT, ALRIGHT ?

"Y/n honey I'm sorry, but your friend Bobby died..." your mother had said. You were only 8, and trying to figure out what that meant. Your friend Bobby, that you had designed to be your boyfriend when you were five, your "lover" that had moved away with his mom and his brother Mike when he was barely 8 ? How ?

That was 15 years ago, and you only remember glimpses of it sometimes, or you were just hearing Mike's voice saying "I swear he flew away, I swear mom !". They never found the body nor the homemade plane Bobby and his brother built.

Today was a normal day, you were working in the same shop you've been working in for 4 years, behind the same counter, in the same city you had grown up and became friends and more with...Bobby. You still thought about him some days, thinking about how nice and cute that kid was. Such a shame. You really loved him when you were younger.

You were chatting with customers, they all were the same every day.
You waved one of them goodbye "Good luck with that new soup recipe, Mrs. Hudson !" The lady just answered with a smile and left.
You greeted the next customer, Mr. Truman, hearing the bell of your shop's door ringing, like everytime someone walked in, and you didn't really pay attention to it. While you were serving Mr. Truman, you chatted a little with him.

"So Mr. Truman, how's the wife ?" You asked.

"Oh ! Still a bitch !" He laughed. "I sometimes hate myself for loving her !"

You chuckled. "I get it, she says the exact same thing about you ! But she also says that if she could go back she would do it all over again without changing a thing."

Mr. Truman looked surprised. "Really ? Oh that sweet lady ! I'm definitely gonna cook for her tonight !"

"I'm glad to hear that !" You replied. You gave him his groceries. "Take care of yourself Mr. Truman, see you soon."

He took his groceries, paid you and left, all cheery.
While you were organizing the money, the next customer got closer.

"So your job is making people's day a little better ?" He asked, amused.

"Well I surely hope it is !" You said, still focused on your organizing. "These two lovebirds are in this kind of love where it's like "I love you" "me neither" you know ? 40 years of marriage and still together, no matter how many times they argue."

"Must be nice."

"Yeah. So what can I do for you ?" You said, raising your head to look at him. He had pretty red hair and hazel eyes.

He stared at you. It hit you. Red hair. Hazel eyes. The same face.

"B...Bobby ?" You hesitated, feeling a lump form in your throat.

He simply nodded.

You let the tears fall from your eyes. "You..."
You contourned your counter to stand in front of him without any obstacles.

"But they said..." you tried to speak, but you couldn't. So you just gave him a big hug instead. He put one of his hands on your back and the other behind your head, rubbing your back to comfort you. He was sniffling.

"They should've listened to my brother that day." He explained.

You pulled back, taking his face in your hands. He was crying too. He put his hands over yours.

"So many years of waiting for this very moment, and it's totally worth it." He said.

You cried even more. He wiped your tears with his thumb.

"So Mike knows ?" You finally asked.

"Yeah, he's one of the few people that do. I didn't really want to go back to my mom after everything that happened." He replied.

"Why did you come here ?"

"What, you don't want to see me ? I thought I was your boyfriend ! Oh Y/n you said I was the only one forever !" He dramatically whined.

You laughed. "Boyfriend ? Oh so you think you're gonna disappear on me for 15 years and then come back to that title ?"

He feigned being hurt. "So you don't want me anymore ?"

"I'll have to think about it" you chuckled.

A customer suddenly walked in, making you two break apart, and you just went back behind the counter.

Bobby was about to turn away to leave when he looked at you and whispered-screamed "hey pretty girl ! At what time do you get off ?"

You giggled. "I get off at 7."

"You, me, we could go get a drink."

"Sure, why not go out with someone who's supposed to be dead ?"

"Alright, see you then" he leaned over the counter and kissed your cheek before leaving, making the bell ring when he opened the door.
